Funniest idea at table

During todays game when planning out how to fight certain opponents, the players considered summoning a large water elemental.

While debating the merits of that, someone else suggested summoning a shark within the water elemental.

Now, though the plan was not used, there is probably some question as to whether or not that is allowable within the rules. I decided that I was laughing way too hard to bother saying no.

Do any of you have similar experiences?

From a rules standpoint, I do not think that the D&D rules differentiate between salt water and fresh water, except for drinking.

I think there are a couple of magic items that differentiate. Doesn't salt water work better for summoning water elementals?

We once used a water elemental as part of our plan to kill the Tarrasque.

The plan was to command the water elemental to enter the beast's lungs and suffocate it.

It actually worked, too. Of course, that was not the only thing we did, but it was a big help. Don't recall exactly how the DM modeled it, though

One of the funniest moments for my group occurred during a semi-serious campaign's first session.

Gethrou the halfling was standing on top of a building while the town was under attack by an undead army, commanded by a powerful necromancer. The necromancer started to climb up to reach the halfling, who was taking pot shots at him with a crossbow. As the fellow climbed up, the halfling pulled out a feather token. Speaking the command word, he sent a swan boat plummetting down on the climbing fellow, crushing him underneath.

The BBEG wound up being the necromancer's son...
