I'd leave him at "Fine" size, myself. He might be to small to date a pixie, but he could get away with courting a petal if he liked. The D&D rules just weren't designed to handle size categories smaller than fine. The only really consistent way to do it would be to calculate everything else as being even larger.

I can see everyone is having fun with the results of this effect. But normally magic that changes size doesn't stack with itself.

Once it's been ruled instantaneous, though (as the DM did), is there anything for the second effect to stack with?

Look in Complete mage for some reserve feats that allow you to fly or teleport at will. Or use Overland flight. Now you only have to look out for moderately strong breezes.

That's basically what I did. He's still technically "Fine" sized, but he merely shrunk a second time. I didn't give him any mechanical benefits, though I did tell him that if I miscalculated the size bonus to Hide, he could keep the greater one because of his extremely small size.

That's the way I looked at it. Since there was no duration listed (permanent or otherwise), and it specified that there was no save, it made sense to me that it was an instantaneous effect.

Ok... So far I am most intrgued by the construction of a Shield Guardian for the purposes of getting around and casting spells out its eyeballs. That I will look into. Though I'll have to make sure that I rig up something in the head to harness myself into, otherwise when it falls over, I'm just a dice in a Yahtzee cup taking some significant damage I'm sure.

Definitely look into scorching ray - it's not a real giant robot without lasers. And isn't there a spell that forms a sword of force or something like that? Can't remember the name.

Nah. Have your Druid buddy enchant it with a voice activated Flame Blade. The voice activation line? "Form Blazing Sword!" Duh.
