I know people here have used gameoutfitter.com. What has been your experience? How long is the average delivery time? Any really bad experiences with them?

Thanks

I get my D&D minis from them. They aren't super responsive to emails, likely because they get so many, but my orders are always timely and shipped properly. I've ordered two cases of every expansion, with the exception of Harbinger, from them. And I've had no complaints.

I tend to preorder as soon as they put the next set up, to ensure I get my minis. The minis are generally here a couple of days after release. They've allowed me to add or subtract cases to my order after I placed it without any hassle, although it took a few days for them to get back to me about it.

Best mini deals I've found so far...

Second hand info here so *please* take with the grain of salt as I have no direct experience with them.

A friend orders his minis from them. The first time he had to wait a long time to get them and was not real happy with them. He gave them a second chance last time and got them in a very timely manner and I believe he was quite pleased with the experience second time through.

Were I to order a large amount of minis I would probably be inclined to give them a try.

I have been using them regularly for minis since the Harbinger set. When I get my pre-orders in early enough, my minis have arrived consistently on Street Date. Responsiveness to e-mail questions has been reasonable, and they have been very flexible about changes. I am very pleased with them.

I've ordered at least 10 cases of D&D minis from them, total. I've had great experiences. (There was some confusion with one order, but they fixed the problem immediately.) They also go out of their way to help in weird situations. For example, when the boxes-per-case was unexpected changed from 16 to 12, they contacted folks and gave them the option of increasing their order (as I did, from two cases to three) or keeping it the same, either way without losing ground in the queue.

One thing to keep in mind is that their prices are so low they've become immensely popular with people who buy WotC minis by the case. So if you want to be in the "first wave" of shipping, you need to keep an eye on the site and place your pre-order quickly.

My experience has been positive.

However, until the latest set, they never received enough minis to cover all of their pre-orders. This caused some orders to be delayed by 3-6 weeks. So, as others have said, if you pre-order, make sure you order as soon as they accept them (check daily :) ).

The only (minor) thing I do not like is that they ship on the release date rather than arrange for delivery on release date. For example, the Deathknell minis released on Friday, March 25. I received mine on Tuesday, March 29.

Otherwise, the prices are very good and they have been responsive when I have sent e-mails.

I will not use them again. My last two minis purchases well over a month to arrive. Then, they never responded to my e-mails. When I ordered aberrations, I got my pre-order in on the 3rd day available to order. They did not get enough and I waited two months for them to get more.

Never again.

What sort of shipping charge do these guys have? I can't find it anywhere on their site. I'd at least expect a schedule of prices or some such.

For a case of minis, shipping was $8.95.

They charge over $20 to ship to Canada, which kills the cost-effectiveness for me; unless I was to buy large volumes of minis -- something like 10 expansion packs. Which I guess isn't many for collectors, but it is for me.

My one experience with GO wasn't good, but this was 1-2 years ago when they didn't accept international credit card numbers. I paid via mailed cheque -- needless to say, it was a long time before I got my order. The thing that got my goat is that they had run out of stock on one of my items, The Standing Stone module, but didn't note it on the website and didn't contact me about it. They shipped my order minus the module, no refund or explanation in sight. I finally got them to fess up after a couple of e-mails, and a few weeks later I received a cheque from them to cover the difference.

All's well that ends well. I'm sure that all of their current U.S. orders go much more smoothly than this, but that was my experience.
