Gamer stereotypes

Some more gamer stereotypes...

Hey, that's several stereotypes rolled into one. Do you qualify for that if you only fulfill one of the requirements?

Hello.

I am female, I am not a Goth, do not have a lazy eye, am not overweight and generally only sweaty when in the gym, very, very hot days, and in situations that are none of your business ;) , am not a very skimpy dresser (although I consider myself not-unattractive, and according to my present man and ex-boyfriends, am fairly attractive), do not have a beard :p , was a gamer for years before dating a gamer, and have non-gamer friends and interests, including bar hopping and other things that gamers stereotypically don't do.

Where are the "normal" females in your lists? :D

BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!1

This is what I like about the Internet: we really have no way of knowing for certain that you in fact *are* a girl. For all we know, you could be some pimply-faced 11-year-old who's using his dad's computer without permission.

Too many difficult words for that ;). My guess: 43-year-old bald guy in shorts with hairy armpits :p

Yes, I could be a fat, bald guy in Mexico, (wonders of the Internet :\ ). I know I am a 'normal' female. But, being that I have never been to a Con, I suppose that I can't say that there are 'normal' women at Cons.

You know, I was about to say that I know lots of female gamers that don't fit into the stereotypes - then realized that 1 is an Goth, one is a VTM player (which may as well be a Goth), 1 has the stereotypical gamer pear-shaped body, and the other was the DM's girlfriend - and as far as I know hasn't gamed since they broke up. All the rest I know are over the Internet, so who knows what they are really like.

Maybe there aren't any 'normal' women at Cons (until next year, when *I* will be at GenCon) :D .

So there. :p :p :p :p :p

All comments are meant in good fun and not meant to offend - and really, anyone who gets offended at what some 43-year-old bald guy in shorts with hairy armpits says over the internet needs their head examined. :uhoh:

Goddess, normal females in gaming are so rare, that they're the exception to every rule. Whenever I see a normal (or even hot) female at GenCon, I just assume that either A) they are someone's girlfriend/wife, B) is a booth babe, or C) a call girl hired by a gamer trying to look impressive.

If you're none of those (which I assume that you aren't), then you are truly unique. :)
B) Booth Babe? I take it this is someone just hired for looks (to attract those virgin gamers who live in their parent's basements ;) ), not really with the company? Do they have Booth Hunks? If they do, I need to start going to Cons... ;)

C) Do people actually do this? Wait, don't answer that.... :D

And thank you for calling me unique. :) :) :)

But just by virtue of being at GenCon, you won't be normal, even if you say you are now. It just sort of happens. On the street, you are normal. You walk through those doors, put on your badge, and all of a sudden, you are not part of the norm. You become that "Non-goth, non-sweaty, normal weight, attractive girl" that everyone else stares at. ;)

Or almost everyone. There will be a few CCG players who will be wandering by looking at the cards they just bought, completely oblivious to everything else around them. (Can we add them to the list?)
