Gamers seek gamers can be better

The gamers seeking gamers should be better organized, especially since it cannot be searched.

How about instituting a standardized format similar to what the message board on WotC's site have done?

I don't know what the folks on the WotC boards have done, but...

I could make a sticky thread in GSG where people could post a brief summary of what they're looking for and where they are (e.g., "NYC. Looking for gamers for a FR game,") and post a link to the thread in question. And when the threads have become obsolete, they can edit out the content of these posts.

This thread would then be cleared out of no-longer-needed posts periodically.

Or, necessitating more Mod work, people could post like I mentioned above, and a Mod would then compile the info of all of the threads into one post, and then delete the posts in the sticky thread.

Thoughts?

It's only 12 pages, so that's not that bad to search through. I imagine it's take at most 10 minutes.

However, for sake of ease, if threads can be sorted to by the alphebet, that might be nice. Then one could require all the thread titles to post country, state, city or other specific order. Then you just orginize them by title and look for the place you are looking for.

Try clicking on one of the column headers (in orange) and see what happens... ;)

Proof once again that I just post here and have no real idea on what I am doing. :D

So, if one were to require all those thread titles to follow a specific forumula, it would be easy to find anyone in your area after you do this.

Formula suggestions:

Country, State

Everyone knows it's going to be looking for gamers, so lump them all together. Everyone in texas in one place.

People can use the CTRL-F then type the city name to find a entry that is in their city.

I'd go country, state or provence, city

And if it's an on line game I'd suggest on line instead of country, and then type of game (message board, e-mail, chat) instead of state/province.
