Gaming and your Significant Other

As many of you know, contrary to popular belief many gamers DO in fact have romantic relationships. Between RL and the boards, I have been introduced to the (I believe) full spectrum of attitudes of SO's toward gaming. I and many others actively game with ours. Others I have met and played with have SOs that are okay with gaming as well as those who aren't and often try to interfer. I even know one guy who hides his D&D playing from his wife, though I don't know how he manages it.

Without making value judgements about other's relationships, I would like to find out how that breaks down here: How are you and your SO visa' vi gaming?

My wife knows and trys to understand gaming, and even activly encourages me to play because she knows it makes me happy. She doesn't game, however, but thats fine with both of us.

My wife doesn't really like gaming. Then again, she doesn't really like any hobby that keeps me busy doing something that doesn't involve the family somehow for extended lengths of time.

But she doesn't make a big deal out of it either.

My girlfriend just recently got into gaming, interested in the setting I created. She's not much for the system of it, but is easily as deep into the plot and character interaction as anyone else, and has really taken to it. As far as she's concerned her character sheet's written in code, but she's gotten much better and is now coming up with tactical moves. Not "if I use this feat with this feat I'll be unstoppable" but more "since he's standing next to the weird machine I'm going to hit it with lightning to overload it and take him out at the same time."

So she's a recent convert to the gaming side of things. She even bought her first set of dice. I'm so proud. *sniff*
