How often does your group meet (weekly, every two weeks, every third Tuesday that falls on an odd date in a month with an 'a', whatever)

and

How long do you game each session?

My group meets weekly (F2F), usually cancelling only one or two sessions a year unless the holidays fall wrong.

Our schedule is 6pm-10pm, but generally we run over a bit, sometimes up to an hour.

We play on Wednesdays after Boy Scouts for 2-3 hours. Usually 2 hours now that my son is a regular member. School vacation weeks we play 4-5 hours and we tend to cancel 7-10 times per year. We cancelled a couple weeks ago with a big snowstorm.

I GM (and sometimes, as now with one of them) play with two different groups that meet alternating weeks (largely because I've been the GM so often for each one).

Pre-covid every Sunday from 2 PM to 6 PM for D&D.

Currently, online most Thursdays (3/4 weeks per month) 7:30 PM - 9:30/10:00 PM for WFRP.

I much, much prefer weekly games.

Two groups have online sessions are weekly and are usually 2-3 hours. Then a separate group does a monthly session over a weekend where we’ll do 5 hours on a Friday night and then 6-7 hours on the Sat.

Though the monthly session is on hiatus until COVID lockdowns end. Better safe than sorry.

Once a week for 4-5 hours. Same time frame as you. 6-10 with the occasional up to 11.

I run two groups that meet every other week (one on Saturdays, one on Wednesdays). The sessions are scheduled to run from 6-10 PM; but sometimes the players get ahead of my prep and I need to call a stop before I improvise myself into a horrible bind, and sometimes things need to run long (usually a big fight that I don't want to interrupt and resume) and we run late.

We meet every Sunday from 5:00-10:00 p.m. We stopped gaming from March until June and then started an online game when we realized this Covid thing wasn't going away anytime soon.

Pre-covid my game in theory ran every Sunday night, in practice we usually get in about 45 a year. 4-5 hour sessions in theory but the first hour is often lost in chit-chat.

In the Covid world, Monday AD&D1e and Wednesdays GURPS are about 2.5 hours each; one-weekend-per-month GURPS is 3-5 hours.

I find that playing remotely there's less chatter and more concentration on the game. It's that bit harder to keep track of what's happening, so people tend not to have spare cycles for other stuff. Do other people have that experience?
