Gaming Food

If your gaming group shares food (I know that many don't), what sort of food is it? I know that pizza would be near the top of the list, but what other things does your group share. I'm trying to get some ideas of food to make for my group.

In one of my old groups, we tended to have a "day game" on the weekend, so our shared food was a few plates with a selection of cheeses, various meats, cracker biscuits and few other things like celery, carrot and fruit.
These were really good for snacking on during the game, and weren't overly bad for our health or anything.
Some of us brought sandwiches, or take out to go with it, but those were individual choices.

In a later group, we would decide to bring ingredients (pre-arranged the week before) like cold meats, salads (potato, leafy, bean, corn, or what ever) and breads. Of course sometimes it was easier just to have pizza, or have a smorgasbord of chinese food brought back to the house.

It varies, but the usual staples of my afternoon group include:

Spaghetti
Hamburgers
Brauts & sausages
Beef Stew
Chicken burritos and tortilla soup
Pork or beef roast
Chicken breast sandwiches
Lasagna

With various sides, chips, and drinks.

My evening crew is a bit on the lighter side for food, but I typically make a large veggie tray for that.

This summer I had an open grill and everybody brought whatever they wanted to grill. Everybody brought a side item to share. Grill opens at 6:00 PM gaming begins at 7:00 PM. Worked pretty well.

We also do themes. For my Conan games, we typically do "barbarian" food - thick stew with bread for utensils, or roasted turkey legs for example. For my annual Halloween game, I do "harvest" foods, and so on.

It varies. Some weeks we do various cheeses, crackers, meat, etc. Other times we do salsa and different types of chips (fritos, doritos, tostitos, etc)and various dips. If we play a long session, we will order somthing from the local pizza place.

These days, the snackin' food tends to be mostly vegi plates with some sort of dip, and/or fruit platters with some yogurt. Sweets like oreos or milk duds will occasionally pop up. Drinks are usually soda or lemonaid.

Zany, I know.

Whatever sounds good on the way to the game

Chicken Lo Mein
Philly Cheese Steak
Taco "can't get your order right or quick" Bell
Cincinnati style chili (everyone but us hates it)
And of course, pizza
