Many congrats! You are a fortunate group to have stuck together so long.

At the ascent of your storied group, I had been BECMI'ing (actually, just B'ing) for about 6 months, at the tender age of ten.

Wow, if I were to say the same, that'd mean I started playing when I was 10.

The sad thing is I've tried ever since the 25th anniversary of DnD to figure out just how long I've been playing and I have to give up and just claim "20 plus years".

But playing with the same people for 27 years!? I salute the friendship you people must have.

Let me express my huge admiration.

Just thinking about it I can tell that this is a group of people who show a level of love and loyalty that is not easily found these days.

Of the current six, one is obviously myself and one is my wife (our current DM). Our 20th wedding anniversary is later this week. One other player is married, his wife played with us a short while but then left (and he then took over her playing character, who is in the current module). The other three are single, two of whom were ushers in our wedding. The final member I gamed with in another D&D prior to our own group getting started.

And we are absolutely friends first and foremost. I remember a night a few years back after the father of one of the players had died. He showed up for the game but it was clear that he needed support from friends rather than a fantasy distraction, so we put aside the dice and module for that night and spent three hours talking instead.
