My old face-to-face group has two mac users, but since they don't game online, no worries.

My current online group is 100% PC, and we'd kill for a good virtual tabletop (even if we likely wouldn't be playing D&D on it).

100% Windows.

At least one ALSO has a Mac, and another uses Linux for everything but electronic gaming. However, both are, in fact, electronic gamers and understand that most of the software they want is only available for the PC. Actually, the Mac-user seems to prefer his PC anyway, probably because it's a laptop.

A bigger issue in my group is that two don't have internet access, and one doesn't have a computer.

So, 17/18 have Windows, 1/18 has no PC, and 15/18 have internet access.

Am I the only one who sees the contradictions in this statement?
No contradiction. My gaming friends tend to be IT professionals, so they:

1) Understand that non windows applications get the shaft.

2) Can find a way to run software on a platform that they don't favor.

Honestly, if I want to play a game with my friend who lives in Seattle and, for example, I needed to get access to a Mac to do so, I would do so.

I guess I don't see what's so confusing about that.

We're 50% Macs in a group of 8, and I believe I'm the only one with an Intel Mac. And though I might be able to dual-boot my MacBook, I have no intention of purchasing Windows or a virtualizing environment just to run DDI. (I would be very interested in a "reduced" DDI subscription that featured just the Dragon & Dungeon content, though!).

Myself and one of our players have multiple systems - I have a Mac, a Linux Box, and a bunch of Windows systems.

But none of us don't have a windows system.
