Gaming groups: friends or all business?

I first started playing when I met my husband. He gamed, and was usually the dm. We have about 10 people in our group ,I am the only girl and they were all my husbands freinds first. Most have known and been freinds with my husband for quite a while, going all the way back to elementary school. A few he met along the way and became freinds while gaming. But much like everyone else, if we cant hang out with them out side of the gaming table, they will not game with us. I wish a few more girls I knew were interested. We are desperatly not trying to let life get in the way of gaming. We have only lost 1 player to moving away, and we are the only ones who have kids so far. So hopefully everyone can juggle life and gaming.

I don't really make friends easily, as i'm not really a social person, so i pretty much game with people to game. My current gaming group I found through posting a sign on the store.

Everyone else seemed pretty "on the ball" with this, and upon re-reading it, I should've figured it out.

My group now are all folks who I met through gaming. I consider them friends, but they all came to the table as gamers. My original group were friends first, but they have all moved from the area. My gaming group evolves as folks move off and leave the area. I invite lots of people to play and if their style matches ours, AND they're a human being they are invited to stick around permanently.
