Hmm that's not so bad, it's like a free +2 con for the purposes of extra HP. Also, now i learned that when i level up (let's say going for vanilla Wizard for the feat), i will get: regular feats, wizard bonus feats, epic feats. Right?

no.... once attaining epic levels... unless your class is split up like Arineils then you no longer gain regular feats....

say a 20th level fighter goes to 21st level.. he would gain TWO epic level feats because after 20 levels in fighter the next level he's considered an epic level fighter...

NOW....

lets say you have a character like Arineil who's Barbarian 10/Fighter 10.... and went to Barb 10/Fighter 11 I would be an epic level CHARACTER but not an epic level barbarian OR fighter..... as I don't have 20 levels of either..... so if I gain this next fighter level I would gain ONE epic feat for reaching 21st level.. and one reglard fighter feat for reaching 11th level fighter.......

that make sense?

I do believe you would receive one epic feat for attaining 21st level.... and one wizard feat (which I do believe has to be an epic metamagic feat).....

Well Sila is Wizard 5 / Elemental Savant 10 / Archmage 5 . However ES has 8/10 spellcasting class progression. Meaning that she is a level 18 "virtual" Wizard. So now if she decides to take a sixth level in Wizard, will she be getting an epic feat or a regular one... Hmmmm.

hmmm.. I WANT to say it will be a regular one... BUT.... someone more qualified might want to take a crack at that as I've never played and epic level caster before..

At Character level 21, you will get 1 feat. Being an epic level character, you could take either an epic feat or a regular one.

The real trick is what class to advance once you're past level 20 because if you have 20 levels of a base class or 10 levels of a PrC and you advance one of those, you start getting bonus epic feats. For instance a Wizard 23 would get a bonus epic feat, similarly Chevik is Cleric 5/Divine Oracle 1/Paragnostic 4/Loremaster 10. If I advance him in any class other than Loremaster I only get the epic feats at 21, 24, 27, etc. If I advance him in loremaster though I will get an epic feat at 21, 24, 27, etc and a bonus epic feat at 23, 26, 29, etc because loremasters get a bonus epic feat every 3 levels. That depends on your class though... a fighter at epic levels get bonus feats every 2 levels just like normal

I kinda hosed myself on epic feats taking levels of barbarian to get DR for my tank character creation...... then again without it I dunno how I would have gotten it.....

'hokay, it's been a couple days and you guys have been hella active, so here goes:

Jemal, all of Xavid's spellcasting PrC levels are going towards Wizard. He accesses those clerical spells via the Arcane Disciple Feat (CDiv). But that reminds me, I need to take some ranks in Know: Religion. I'll also mark class abilities/choices and book of origin for non-SRD stuff for ease of reference.
Ouch, I musta missed that feat, it's pretty nasty. Allright, gimme a little more time to look over the rest of the character, now that I know what's what.

It looked like a lot of fun. Since there was confusion about distances using an ascii map, I'd suggest using a Google Docs spreadsheet.
I'll look into it, thnx for the link.

Jemal i started reading the Player's Guide to Faerun.. I'm regretting i didn't check it out earlier - there is one feat, called Bloodline of Fire, that grants + 4 to saves vs fire effects (useless as she is already immue to fire, but good flavor never the less) and +2 caster level for fire based spells (and fits great with Sila's background and bloodline choice). I was thinking, since you already allowed Searing Spell, might there be a way to sneak this in?

Granted at lvl 21 i would be much better of getting Automatic Quicken or Epic Spellcasting..

I'm gonna say no to the feat for a few reasons. First being I don't have that book, second being +2 CL is pretty powerful for a single feat. Third being from what I've gathered via the interweb, that feat can only be taken at first level.

Hey Jemal a question for you as it pertains to upcomming feats when I gain a level.....

If I took Damage Reduction [Epic] and upped my base DR from 2 to 5 could I take Thick skinned one more time next I gain a level and take a fighter level and gain an epic feat and a fighter feat....

The next level I gain will be a fighter level... thus I will gain a fighter feat... and an epic feat from reaching 21st level..... if I take Epic damage reduction first and upped my base DR from 2 to 5.... then I could have up to double my DR in Thickskinned feats... so I would be able to take it one more time under these rules?
First problem: Thick skinned isn't one of the feats you can take with your 'fighter bonus feat'.
second problem: Your next fighter level will be figher 11, and fighters gain bonus feats every EVEN level. You would still gain the feat EVERYONE gets at lvl 21, though. I'd suggest just sticking with the epic DR feat, it's better than thick-skinned in every way, and you have no way (That I can think of) of gaining it at this point without using up one of your epic feat slots anyways.

Well per Jemal's own words, it's not necessarily going to bestow negative levels. Unless it's a cursed item, it shouldn't be too bad.. Why doesn't someone with proficiency just put it on and see?
While it's true I did say "not neccessarily", I should also point out as nobody seems to have commented on the fact: You guys have sensed that it's evil without casting any spell that detects evil.. wonder how evil something has to be before that happens...

I was reading around some more and came to the Improved Toughness feat. IT says you gain one hitpoint per HD. Can someone give me an example? How much HP would Sila get, having 20 levels of d4 HD classes?
Seems this has allready been answered, but I'll clarify that yes, at lvl 20 you would have +20.. it's 1 per hd, regardless of what type of hd they are, and don't forget that it goes up as your lvl does (So each time you gain a hd/lvl you would gain +1 hp)

no.... once attaining epic levels... unless your class is split up like Arineils then you no longer gain regular feats....

say a 20th level fighter goes to 21st level.. he would gain TWO epic level feats because after 20 levels in fighter the next level he's considered an epic level fighter...
wrong. lvl 21 gives you a single feat, not two feats. Fighters gain bonus feats every even level. 21 is an odd number. a straight fighter would gain an epic feat at lvl 21(All characters get a feat every 3 levels), and then a bonus epic feat at lvl 22(Chosen from the list of 'bonus feats' available to fighters as per the elh), then another epic feat at 24 AND a bonus epic feat at 24.

NOW....

lets say you have a character like Arineil who's Barbarian 10/Fighter 10.... and went to Barb 10/Fighter 11 I would be an epic level CHARACTER but not an epic level barbarian OR fighter..... as I don't have 20 levels of either..... so if I gain this next fighter level I would gain ONE epic feat for reaching 21st level.. and one reglard fighter feat for reaching 11th level fighter.......
Again, fighters don't gain a bonus feat at lvl 11

I do believe you would receive one epic feat for attaining 21st level.... and one wizard feat (which I do believe has to be an epic metamagic feat).....
And wizards gain bonus wizard feats every 5 lvls, since he's allready lvl 5 wizard, he doesn't gain his next 'bonus wizard feat' until his wizard lvl hits 10.

Hmmmm.

She's not an 18th lvl 'virtual wizard', she's a 20th lvl character with 18th lvl 'wizard casting', which has nothing at all to do with what type of feats she can take (except for those feats that have a minimum caster level requirement listed).

ALL characters gain an epic feat at lvl 21 and every three thereafter (24, 27, 30, etc). Characters who have more than 20 levels in a class (Or more than 10 lvls in a prestige class) may gain BONUS epic feats at certain levels in that class, dependant on the classes progression. (Fighters gain bonuses at lvls 22, 24, 26, etc... Loremasters gain bonuses at 13, 16, 19, etc.)

EDIT: Also, I'll be updating the IC thread soon...
OH, and Ishalleatyourflesh - You do make life difficult. First pulling the body out of the forest without asking if it was still there, and now ATTACKING THE HOUSE? Not much I can do about the first part since everybody has decided to go along with it and I wasn't around to stop it. Hm.. time for Plan B!

Thanks for all the info Jemal! You are a good teacher :D

Shayuri Jemal said in post #1 that we will not be getting XP, but he will just level us up when he sees fit.

The only potential problem that i see with this is the XP cost for Wish and epic spells.

We now get a 10,000XP pool to work with until next level - that's good for two regular castings of Wish. A "normal" character that needs to advance between 20-21 would need hundreds of thousands of XP, and thus if he/she chooses he/she can use all that XP towards spellcasting. On one hand we have free XP used as a resource and not tied to leveling. On the other, epic spells will be hard on the Spellcradt DC without an XP cost to midgitate the effects.
