Gaming W/Jemal: Planar Quest IC (Prologue)

"Wait until we talk to the brain eater before we use the others?" softly suggests Ur once he's digested that some, and none of the others have spoken up <I'm going to assume?>. "Unless we want to spy on our competition?"

If Iridex really knew about the Keys, as Gerard's contact seems to be saying, then that vampire lord might be well ahead of them already, with maybe even a Key already in his hands...

OOC: I'm going to vote we do all the casting we want tonight but wait until 'morning' to visit the illithid?

"We can either use these to further view the key we're after," Mei says, "Or use one on each key. Using one on the illithid is also not a bad idea, though may not be the best use of a limited resource. I don't see much to be gained in saving them. Our lack of knowledge is our biggest obstacle at the moment."

"I wonder how we can get the information we need from the illithid without running a risk of giving him some hint of our business" Braham says. "It would be best if he doesn't even know who he's dealing with. D'Raven's involvement may be obvious, but I see no reason that the rest of us must be."

"I agree Brahm. Our prescience may yet be unknown, but D'raven is already well known. Best if it is not known who his allies are."

Darrian leans against the wall. "We can most likely handle it as a business transaction. I have a anonymous client, a foolhardy client, but a client and this is the Bazaar, we sell anything to anyone, depending on merchant's own ethics. This client wishes to travel to the far realms for some," He does air quotes. "'Important' reason. I sigh, shrug and look at him as to ask understanding or at least lack of laughter. I've been contracted for information and travel because, well, I'm me. Unless we choose to get specific or there have been others asking the same questions lately, it should be mostly a exchange of favours, info, goods and/or coin."

"Does *this* brain eater look anything like the one in Ying's vision?" inquires Ur of the young noble. In his experience coincidences are usually in very short supply when important matters are afoot.

OOC: Negative. the odd looking 'Mandibled Illithid' is unlike anything found around the Bazaar.. However I did just realize I never gave any knowledge checks on it. Though exceptionally rare, there is a chance (DC 40 Knowledge: Planes or History) some of you may know something of them. I'll assume Mei-Ying makes the coin into a replica of the creature's face good enough to make the check.
