Gamma World New Edition Question?

Although we have a love of Gamma World that stretches back to the first edition, I don't think I'll be convincing my players to play the new edition any time soon.

The unfortunate reality is that they enjoy Omega World a LOT more, so I', just going to add some of the nanotech to Omega World instead.

My group is playing GW pretty much as is. The GM is considering adding some stuff from Omega World and Darwin's World, but that hasn't happened yet.

Honestly, some of the things I thought were going to be problematic haven't a big issue. Then again, I haven't tried to use my character's Psi powers yet... ;)

If I get the TIME to run some games, I'd run them as-is. Darwin's World never even hooked me, sorry. I like Modern, I like the new style/setting (it's not 4th ed, my favorite...but why would I pay $30 for a rehash that's already darn close to d20?) and like the new rules.

The book had gliches, and layout was dumpy and confusing for new people.

But all in all, woo hoo! Now, if only I had MONEY to buy Mutant &Machine and Out of the Vaults, and GM guide, and....aw crap, I hate being poor. :(

I gotta squeeze in the cool stuff somewhere!

I started my players in straight-up d20 Modern then brought them forward into my Gamma Age.

I continue to use aspects of d20 Modern and GW, but as time goes on I find that I'm grabbing more and more from DW, OW, Spycraft, Shadowforce Archer & SG-1, Transhuman Space, Redline, AU...

Sounds cool, but I'm too lazy to incorporate. If it requires more than 3 books on the table I conplain. :p

New Gamma World all the way, all the time!
I, like so many others, have played all versions of GW and I think that for me this is the best one. It captures the world in a much more serious tone that I like. As for the system "glitchs" that everyone complained about I have not run into any problems an experienced GM couldn't adjudicate.

BTW Biohazzard is your game still going to be online? If so I would still like to Join up.

We are alone, in the "d20 Gamma World Lounge" Rook. :D

without incoporation...

... we would have had to do without the run-speed-augmented Bearwyrm (predator) chasing after the protagonists' top-speed-reduced hovercraft (and prey) scene (ala Spycraft chase rules).

Last night was pretty damn fun. Lacking any top-down satellite imaging the PCs had to rely on a near-proximity holographic display in the cabin area to navigate their huge pig of a hovercraft. I allowed two PCs to offer assists via Navigate rolls (break 15 and be able to shout, "Left! No, RIGHT!" = add +2 to the pilot's Drive roll) as the driver desperately pushed the damaged hovercraft to a blistering 35 MPH.

Consider this another thumbs up on the chase rules, kids.

Goddamnit, that is cool.
