First off some reviews are here, the one titled Ikarumba!! is a joke review.
It's an old school space shooter, e.g. Raiden, R-type, Grdaius, of the Vertical variety.
Warning! the game is difficult, even on easy, but it's not cheap about it, it just expects a lot out of you. However it gives you plenty of ways to improve.
The first thing it does is give you an extra continue for every hour of play time and after seven you get unlimited continues.
The two options for improving are practice mode and conquest mode. Whenever you make it to a new chapter without continuing it is unlocked in both modes. Practice mode allows you to play through any unlocked stages in their entirety with unlimited continues and the ability to restart it whenever you choose.
Conquest is similar to practice mode but it divides each chapter into smaller sections. For each stage you have three options Demo, Slow, and Normal. Demo shows a (near) perfect run through the stage at slow speed so you can get an idea of what strategy to use for it (apparently these change depending on what screen setting you have it set too, haven?t tried it myself). Slow allows you to practice that one or develop your own, and normal allows you to try that out at the normal game speed.
So unless you?re totally unwilling to work at getting better I suggest you give the game a try.
Oh and the [GC] in the subject is short for Gamecube. The game was also release for the Dreamcast in Japan, but the cube version has more extras.
