I liked the LotR movies. I didn't really l8ke the tone of those shows.

Didn't actively dislike them. Buffs the best of them. Wife's sister is massive Buffy fan. Except season 7 gor whatever reason.
At the time I was kinda busy and all over the place so shows were often disjointed for me.

Loved Buffy, but never got into Angel. First part of Season 1 of Angel took itself too seriously. And besides, Spike is better vampire than Angel..

I liked Angel as a stand alone show. But somewhere after season 1 it started to feel like it had no business being part of the Buffyverse. The world building of the two shows did just didn't match up, and the development of overlapping characters wasn't good. It was better at being its own thing than a spin off.
