The thing is, I think one can certainly look at role playing games and analyze them the same we do with literature or Buffy the Vampire Slayer. That kind of thing should interest me but for some reason I feel like I'm falling flat on my face every time it's discussed.
We can, and should be able to, but not in an environment such as this. There's a lot more in-depth analysis and self-reflection going on in video games, they have the money for proper research, and a lot of what they're learning also applies to tabletop RPGs.

I watched the original Road Warrior / Mad Mad trilogy back in the 1980s. I've watched them once or twice since. I haven't seen any of the new trilogy that's in progress. Not Fury Road, not Furiosa, and obviously not the unreleased because it's yet-to-be-filmed Wasteland. I am 100% the target audience. I just haven't gotten around to them yet.

For what it's worth, you could see Furiosa first and then watch Fury Road.

I didn't watch the series when it originally ran because I was busy doing something else when it aired. But, man, I got so tired of being around people who didn't want to talk about anything but Firefly. I got around to watching the entire series when it came out on DVD, and while I enjoyed it, I couldn't figure out why it resonated with so many of my friends. I mean to the point where it seriously changed their social lives and one of them even got a Firefly tattoo. I thought it was a good show but it just didn't have that big of an impact on me.

My twin brother is a big Firefly fan. So I got a lot of evangelizing on it back in the day.

Its crazy how into FF folks were. I think Fox only aired like 4-5 episodes of the only season even. o_O
They showed 11 of the 14 episodes. I didn't watch them at the time because it was in a bad time slot for me. But when they came out on DVD - I thought they were awesome with a great mix of humor, drama, and character study.

well it has no cut scenes and has a plot what other option could they have used?
The difference between cutscenes and what it has is academic.

I think Half-Life 2 is one of the most overrated games ever and wasn't even fun. It felt more like a cross between a visual novel and an infomercial for the Source engine than it did like a first-person shooter.

Just realized I left out "bad driving game"
