Gen Con - Good bad and ugly

Wow, I'm thinking next year I really need to offer free tours of downtown Indianapolis to EN Worlders. The canal is only a block away from the convention center and there's a nice little park just a few hundred yards further.

Hmmm....*begins formulating a plan for next year*

ENWorld PICNIC!!!!!

PS- in case I haven't said so a gazillion times, thank you so very much for letting us store our display cases chez vous, and especially thank you for the champagne delivery Friday night! I felt ever so swank being able to invite Peter and Erik "back to my suite for champagne and chocolate"!

The security guy making Ethernaut run back to the hotel since he'd forgotten his badge during Rel's Sky Galleon's game. Worse: coming up with a clever idea of having him borrow Shemeska's badge, but not mentioning it until after Ethernaut had already left.

Eh? I have absolutely no recollection of any of this. Of course I also have no recollection of the majority of Sunday. Do tell?

That'd be a great idea. I noticed there are a number of parks that branch off from the canal at various points. One of the closest to the convention center, about a half block south of the intersection of Ohio and New York Avenues, is Military Park, within lies a rustic pavillion that could easily be used for a eight table tournament game or picnic. It might require a permit of some sort to secure it but the heavily-varnished, split-log table with attached benches are there . . . and they don't appear to be going anywhere . . . without a crane. ;)

I had a number of pics of the canal area and river area in 2003 it was beautiful place, loved the ballpark too and was hoping to make it to the Indian museum one year.

Ah, yes. I was there too early on Monday to get in but walked around the building and circles they have outdoors.

From the driveway on the south side of the museum, on the opposite side of the rotunda from that welcome bronze statue, is a processional awning that leads up to the front entrance (and that plaque you can barely make out at the back of the photo).

From the west side of the museum, and looking toward the front (there in the middle is the fountain/bronze and you can see the edge of the processional poking out from the front). A lot of the walks around this museum were seeded with various prarie grasses (with small identifying signs) which were still holding their summer blooms.
