Gen Con lodging offer news item?

Would it be appropriate to post the content of this thread - http://www.enworld.org/showthread.php?t=144408 - as a news item? I think it's sort of an odd thing to do, and it might set a bad precedent, but EN World has always been about the community, and I'd like to see John Crichton helped out, since he gave me a place to stay last year at Gen Con.

Originally there were 4 of us. Made the reservation at the Courtyard by Mariott for Wednesday-Monday. Long story short: We got one person to replace the first guy for 3 of the 5 days which isn't so bad. The really bad part is that the 3rd guy just called me and his sister is having surgery which means he's out. That's leaves us with 2.5 people. Ugh!

So, if anyone is looking for a place to stay, or even 2 people at the Con let me know. PM me or email: mglickman [at] snet [dot] net. 2 of us are in our mid-late 20s and are pretty clean. The other guy who is only staying with us for 3 days is in his 40s (I know him from another site).

My friend and I REALLY don't want to foot the huge room bill between the 2 of us. We would even be willing to room with someone else and cancel our reservation (which would still cost us but that's ok) to go in on a different rooming situation.

We are leaving here around 9am tomorrow morning so if you are interested or have any leads/suggestions please let me know.

Regardless of the outcome I *really* appreciate the help. We are in a bind and any help would be appreciated. That said, I will be there and hope to see many of the faces that I saw last year and hopefully some new ones.

I would love to help John Crichton out but I am wary of the precedent that would be set by posting such an item. I imagine it would soon break down to why isn't my situation as important as so and so's was. And so on and so on. I certainly am not trying to slight John's lodging predicament, just trying to head off issues in the future.

I would try to keep the thread bumped and it should get lots of attention in the General Forum where hopefully someone that can help will see it. You could also look to the Gen Con forums, they have a Travel and Housing section that might have some last minute moves occurring.
