I know who you must mean, and yes, she would. I told her she was the EN Booth Babe. (You know who you are.);) She's a sweetie too.

Blast! One of these years, I shall make it to GenCon. Oh yes. I shall. You'll know me. I'll be the guy who looks like a vampire with a beergut. No, I don't know where that came from - one of my friends always says that.

I just got home from Gen Con, literally less than twenty minutes before writing this post. Gen Con really put the cap on a great year.

I got to meet lots of ENWorld personalities (JoeGKushner, Psion, grodog, Buttercup, and others), saw and got to play in some demos of some fantastic new products (the Valus, Mafia!, The Game of Thrones D20), and much, much more.

One shining moment I shall forever remember is when Dawnforge recieved the Gold ENnie for "best campaign setting." As part of the team who created that book, I just can't describe the soaring of my spirit - the recognition of my friends and peers is something truly magnificent, and I am humbled by it. The ENnies are really coming into their own as the premiere industry award, and I am sure we will see many more ENWorlders up on stage in the near future (I mean you, Destan!).

It's hard for me to remember a better show - lines never seemed obnoxiously long, the staff were knowledgable, helpful, and friendly - plus, the dealer's room, art show, and video rooms all looked like they were rising above even last year's high standards. I was very satisfied with the show this year and I eagerly look forward to Gen Con Indy 2005!

Sounds like a good time was had by all.

That's the thing I missed about not going this year the most - missing out on meeting people. There are folks from here and RPG.net who it would be great to meet, or meet again.

And, of course, it's great fun to just wander the halls and talk to publishers I've worked with, but never met.

Next year...

I've still only gamed once at a GenCon, too. That must be remedied.

As a first time convention goer I was a bit overwhelmed by the experience, but lot's of fun was to be had.

Psion's T20 Game: Remarkably fun game. Psion's brood are lucky to have such a great GM. T-Billy, Buttercup, Maldur, and the others were awesome crew mates as well. I was afraid that too much more of my 'shoot it now' attitude could have gotten me spaced.

NASCRAG D&D Tourney: Was a bit of a miss - I'm not much for time traveling silliness in my fantasy.

Angel RPG Into Scenario: Some wild stuff. It's too bad that Lorne's player had too leave early... Eden Studios earned my respect from this awesome demo.

Vampire:The Requiem Release Party: Mad fun ... Too bad I missed the early part because of the ENnies.

The ENnies: Mad Props to d20 Dwarf for Dawnforge and the Green Ronin crew for their Mutants and Masterminds ENnies.

The Freeport Pickup by Stone Angel: Excellent fun. d20 Dwarf and Ghetto Gnome were awesome comerades at arms.

Cheap Lodging: Thanks to Stone Angel and girlfriend.

I did not just get back but upon return I find a friend in the hospital, and that I have left my phone charger in Indie! Ack!

Anyways, I showed up, and as I was leaving to register, I ran into Cthulhu's Librarian, Buttercup, Truth Seeker, (Crothian?) in the elevator. This was my posse until the Ennies, then CL and I switched over to Hellhound and Teflon Billy's fair band of rapscallions, (including Stone Angel, an unknown, Leonard and possibly another) and proceeded to the RAM, where delayed we (I) ran a mile to get cash, and we (the rest of us and later me) feasted on beer and food. Not to be demoralised by our delay (or a 1mile run), we split the party, got lost using our honed adventuring skills, found the rest of the party and proceeded to the Red Garter. There much fun was had.

Saturday started quite well, with an effective foray into the dealers room. However, Jester47 said yes to too many things, and had to leave too many games. After about 6 hours of playing the red shirt, finding more deals in the dealers room, missing a talk and a costume contest, I ran into Truth Seeker and his friend from New York. We had a great conversation about the industry and then we went to Hellhound and Dextras little canadia party. There I hung out the rest of the night gabbering and went home at 2AM.

And lo the third day. I awoke, gathered my wits, made myself clean and proceeed to get breakfast. There I ran into an old friend who I traded words with for a few minutes and then went off to the dealers room. In the dealers room I met Wayne Reynolds, Sean Reynolds, bought the gamers, talked to some other folks, stopped by the art room, then dropped by the ENWorld booth one last time and then headed back to my hotel as it was 10 till 11:00 and my plane left at 12:15. I packed (forgot my phone charger) and called for a taxi. Checked out and was away.

A note about taxis. Don't get a taxi. Get a towncar. These guys don't have meters. And they are very very fast. With a flat rate, if you tell them to step on it, they do. I was at the airport in 10 minutes.

Thanks everyone for such a great time, I look forward to next year.

Aaron.

Naw. But Justinian's character and mine had decided that if you and T-Bill died, that would be ok, because we wouldn't have to split the loot so many ways.:p

It was nice to meet you!
