Had myself an idea. The San Diego ENWorld Krew gets together and goes to GenCon So Cal as a group. As Sean pointed out, it's a two hour drive. Go for a day of gaming, schmoozing, and 'shop till you drop', then a two hour drive back. Lather, rinse, repeat.

We will need a few things.

That would be pretty cool. I'm actually considering taking the train, though, as the station is near my house (and I take it to work in Irvine every day anyway) and it makes a stop in Anaheim. That might be more comfortable for everyone involved. I just dunno how close the train station is to the show location....

There are some really nice and cheap hotels all over North Orange County that'd be within a 10 minute drive to the hotel. That's what's great about this, it's not 'Downtown' or near some big-ass airport where the room rates are 100 bucks a night. It's near Disneyland where there's a ton of nice hotels everywhere. I might do some research for folks and post links to hotels within a certain radius.

Sigil: Alas, my gaming group is so big, there ain't no room for anyone else. :( When everyone shows up, we've got, like 9 players. Happily 2 of them regularly don't show up. Still, 7 players is a lot.

For those not in the know, Orange and San Diego Counties have commuter rail, and they have a cooperative set-up whereby one can travel from Anaheim to Downtown San Diego on one ticket. Last I heard, they even honor each other's monthly commuter passes and disabled I. D.s

But for me a daily commute to and from the con is not a good idea. Thanks to possible Sleep Apnea I don't sleep that well. So such a regime would wear me out.

Now that I've been reminded of Anaheim's cheap hotels, I have the following proposal. Those interested in sharing a room pool funds and reserve space. I figure that by that time I could put about $80.00 U. S. into this. We'll need somebody to handle reservations etc. (not me, sorry) and start getting the crash fund together.

One stipulation. This will be for sleeping. If you must insist on the right to regale us with your newest war story, I reserve the right to drown you in the hotel swimming pool. (Whether I am kidding or not, I will leave a worrisome mystery.:D)
