[GenCon] Things you are looking forward to

1. Letting people playtest Fall of Man at our booth 1245, it is turning out to be a great setting/system

2. Seeing all the ENWorldians this year, met some great ones last year, Eric, Morrus, HoE, Mark etc...for those coming get over and visit me.

3. Having my kids see their first GenCon, they will be tehre Friday afternoon.

4. seeing people I call friends but I only see at conventions etc...such as Jim Butler, Doug Herring etc....

5. Seeing how Monte Cook's Arcana Unearthed and our book Monte Cook's Arcana Unearthed: Siege on Ebonring Keep do as well as showing people the Player's Archive for 3.5.


so, what are you looking forward to seeing at GenCon, also excited about being in Indy and what hot spots become "tradition".

The dealer room - checking out all the products.
The Art Room - wish I had the talent.
Games.
The ENnies - it was a blast last year and as award shows go very enjoyable and fun.
Booth Babes - this includes you Hal.

My List

1. Meeting the people I correspond with from these boards and the RPG Designer Community - it's 73.4% of the reason I'm going!
   
2. Checking out Arcana Unearthed and getting a miniature of Malhavoc!!!
   
3. Playing games I have never played before - Savage Worlds comes to mind.
   
4. Just standing in a spot where people won't run me over, and soaking in the sights and sounds of the convention. It's always a thrill, and it will be even bigger this year, so it's a double thrill.
   
5. Being able to geek out in front of 30,000 other people who share my hobbies.
   
6. OOPS! I almost forgot about the Sunday Get-together!

My only fear is that, without a convention booklet (like previous years), I will miss out on something big and fun. The one thing I really miss is something I haven't seen since Gencon 1993: The company that makes the Battletech simulator pods brought Eight units to the 'Con, and I played four or five scenarios of it, loving every minute. I'm sorry they never brought them again (to my knowledge). Yeah, I have a Dave and Buster's a few hours away, but it's still not quite the same.

Y'know, I just realized I had better start a list, so that I can remember all the stuff I don't want to miss!

1. G2 run by Leopold. This is the highlight of the con

2. The ENnies and the meeting afterwards with everyone

3. Seeing the CMP/PCGen crew again (Mynex, Emilie, Bryan, etc)

4. Sharing a booth with the CMP folks.

5. Watching in sick fascination as my wife slowly drives Mynex nuts using just the power of sheer happiness.

6. Beer

7. No kids. I love them but I need a break.

8. Time with the wife to game and hang out.

9. Beer

10. Gaming with a bunch of old friends and strangers.

   That is amazing Saturday around 11am it is so crazy and intense, and all of the people you are seeing all are there for the same reason, that is a great thing to look forward to!
   
   As for me being a booth babe
   but after looking in a mirror I can understand the feeling HoE

   New limited dice by Crytsal Caste...after my meteorite dice from last year I already know I am getting the dino dice and cat's eye dice available at GenCon, I am addicted!!!!
