OK, about the new character sheets. Looks wonderful and I think its a great Idea to keep track of XP in the Log portion.

Having said that I have to say that I think we are once again getting carried away with the micro management of the players if two people are going to be auditing and requiring the player to keep track of every gold piece spent.

I have two characters now and only one is above level one but I can tell you in two short adventures I have probably already missed a couple gold pieces here and there both for and against my count. Nothing major, say a few SP for a drink in an INN and say some GP I won on darts while betting against another player in RDI.

If we are to keep track of money in and money out like a checkbook that is going to turn me right the hell off of LEW. I don't play to be an accountant. When I do update my wealth sheet I always over charge myself for stuff because I think my character would spend little amounts of coppers and silvers here and there, to say tip a waitress or have his clothes pressed or cleaned at RDI. Those add up to a few gold per stay and I take them off when I update mt sheet.

That log is gonna get really cumbersome really fast. I can see it getting really long quick. -1sp tip, -1 gp drink, +1 gp bet won, +13gp share of treasure, -10 new outfit etc. One adventure and we could have sheets hundereds of lines long.

However, if the intent is to basically keep track of major items say magic items gained and major purchases I'd be cool with that cause it just helps everyone remember the big stuff.

I don't want to see "hey you are not approved for level 3 cause you started with 10gp and as I scanned your 100 line ledger, by my accounting you should now be at +30gp 4sp and 198cp". That's a major headache waiting to happen for the judges and the players. Especially since some people to include me have not been thusfar accounting for everything item by item.

I just keep track and after an adventure (or when I leave the RDI for one) calculate the new total on my sheet easy and uncumbersome.

Also the advancement part seems redundant. We are changing our sheets to reflect the new skills, feats etc., and you are checking it for QC. I think thats simple enough.

Besides, the logs in and of themselves is is just annoying and a little insulting that we need yet more layers of bureaucracy and management in the already micro-managed system of character checks and balances.

Is there a problem with cheating here at LEW I am unaware of? Is it rampant or something?

I am of the camp of if its not broken it does not need fixing and the KISS principle. (Keep it simple Stupid)

I agree that minor money doesn't need to be tracked. Major exchanges should be noted (over 1,000) though, and XP should be tracked to some extent.

Generaly I keep small adventure logs for my characters that note major gains and such, and intend to expand a little bit on the notes.

For minor errors, we usually say "We approve your character, but please fix that."

Regarding proposals, there are a lot of open proposals floating around. Please refrain from adding to those proposals for the time being.

Yep, my fault on the proposals, sorry :)

Should be over with soon, and the pantheon should be complete (and we can probably close it then)

I feel that a character logs are a courtesy to the approval judges and less a big-brother conspiracy to prevent "cheating". I, for one, would rather that PCs get the full benefits of levelling up and not less (nor more).

That is correct. Having spoted a few errors myself, under advancement is a much more rampant problem than cheating/over advancement.

2 have been tagged and bagged.

There's at least 1 with 2 yesses sitting out there.

We can probably get a few of them out of the way this week with little problem, which should resolve most of the deity proposals.

Do we need to look at another Archivomatic type listing to help judges out with what stuff is still out there to read and weigh in on?

When I asked if there was some cheating problem it was just a question that is all. Just wondering if there was a reason for the change and addition of the logs as opposed to what was ok before. I wondered honestly if there were people abusing the honor system.

I respect the answer that it works easier for the judges. I was just concerned about accounting for all money in and out, which until clarified looked (in one of the examples) like what was being forwarded.

I also have a question, there is a new LEB thing going on where will that be happeing and who will be running that show. Certainly not the same cast and crew of judges I hope. (Not because they are doing a bad job cause they are doing great) I think there should be a completely different set of judges and rules makers for that piece of pie. Same with the Forgotten Realms piece if that is advanced. I'd love to get in on the ground floor of that bad boy.

Just seems to me that having the same 9-13 people running, approving and coordinating all three sets of games on EWD kind of locks out all the other people from having a say in what goes into the different realms. Also, who would decide who's in charge of these different games.

All I need to know is who do I talk to to get a forum started for the FR or LFR. I don't have time to be on point but I certainly have time to take a piece of it on.

Again, the three shouldn't be run by the same small group for simple reasons of a possible monopoly on ideals and play-styles which we all know vary considerably. I guess I'd talk to PC or someone like that.
