Judges: Would it be possible (or a good idea) to ask around the Inn for some characters, talk to the players a bit, and then write and submit an adventure for approval?

It strikes me that it might work a bit better (and easier) to try it that way rather than for me to sit here in isolation and write an adventure, hoping the characters who end up in it will work out.

Cheers,
Roger

I would definitely encourage any prospective DM to design adventures with an eye to the characters available.

Roger, I'm one of the few still lurking at the RDI. :) If you would like to know more inside info on Japheth's background then feel free to contact me. I haven't revealed it on the character sheet, I'm going to update that as we go along. I'm not looking for something directly affecting me but if the GM could find some of it useful then hey, why not? ;)

I have an idea for quest lurking in my head, but it won't start until Rinaldo come back from his present adventure, so I don't expect it to start soon. But I need to know. Have Orussus any kind of tournement? If an adevnture have been devellop on that, can teh master give me some detail on it. If not, well, it will have one...

I don't think there was anything said about tournaments. A tournament following no strict repeat schedules, or non-recurring tournament would certainly be possible, and I've thought about including such a tournament in a future adventure.
A regularly recurring tournament (ala the Olympic Games) wouldn't be out of line either, I'd say.

I was thinking something more like:

The Orussus' Great Tournement
sponsored by Di Senzio Magical Shop

We are presently recruiting people for the first edition of Orussus' Great Tournement. The open events are:

- Joust
- Duel
- Archery
- The Maze

Every event will have three categories: Newcomers, Amateur, Professional. To subscibe or for information, please come to the recruiting center of Great Tournement next to Di Senzio Magical Shop. At premelinary test will be required to determine the category you will perform.

Grand Prize for each event is a magical item given by Di Senzio Magical shop.

All profits of that tournement will go to the charity.

Now you can understand why Rinaldo must come back from his adventure. He need to buy his shop. :) More event may be added to the list.

I'm thinking about if duel should have magic or not. The maze will be a serie of challenge that can be overcome by many way, so that all class might get a chance to use many of there ability (and some challenge might even be overcome by pure wits). So the maze will be a good place for anyone, and there, magic will eb allowed without problem, even expected for casters.

Hmmm...at this point, the characters are all low enough level that most casters will lose the duels anyway by virtue of getting smacked down by a fighting character who wins initiative and kills them in round 1 :heh:

That sounds good to me. I'm also glad it won't happen until Rinaldo is back, because that means it won't happen until Nurlan is back -- and while I can't see him competing, I imagine a major event will have some kind of festival surrounding it, and that's his kind of setting.
