I'm wondering if that whole post of El Jefe's should have been sblocked.
Well, maybe the first line. But the rest of it addresses a legitimate EnWorld issue, and I tried to do so in a larger sense.

It's ironic. I really don't know which way Bront is going to go in game, and I certainly didn't know if he was even entertaining this option until I read his post in this thread. Minutes before I saw that post in this thread, I had posted about marriage in the in-game thread. Either great minds think alike, or I was inspired by the fantasy novel I'd just finished in which one tribe keeps unicorns just so they can tell when one of the young ladies "has" to get married.

And even before my PC "knew" about the events that set up this whole line of thought, I was posting (OOC and sblocked) in-game things like "15 will get you 20". Although as a player I had a good idea what the set-up was, I didn't have confirmation until Bront's post in-game last night (which I didn't read until this morning).

And I still don't know which way this thing is going to go, and that's as a player, let alone as a character. If Lasair (Rystil Arden's character) starts letting loose with the psionics, who knows what'll happen? Maybe the festival will get a whole lot more "free"! :D

If it helps I still have no idea what's going on :D, O, now I get 15 will get you 20,

You can ignore the paragraph below, I just felt like saying it out loud

as for last night, there I was, in the posting groove, then partway through an RDI post, my internet shut off. I tried and failed calling tech support and by the time it came back on, I was already asleep, Blast you sleep, From this point on I will never sleep again!

You know, it was sblocked with a note for NON-festival people, meaning EJ and LF keep out :p

Same tag [sblock]Actualy, the idea is that it's entirely possable he won't have a choice beyond something significantly less plesant. It's ultimately something that he couldn't get out of later (He could have easily either run away, or whatever, he can obviously assume control over his background).

I had sorta written part of this encounter into the plot, and the other potential "victem" disapeared as well :(. I know it will work out, but I was sort of curious about what exactly I could and couldn't assume about a missing player.[/sblock]

Well, I guess I can figure out what it says in the hidden SBLOCK now :p That said, as a player, I knew what was going on for a while, but Lasair did not, which is what matters, I guess :)

And as for sleep and tech-support being evil--ya, they are :D

Hey! I was a tech support guy once....

well, yeah, we can be :o
When I was in hgih-school, I tried to get a CS internship and failed repeatedly. I eventually got an internship with tech-support at a company called Arbitron. They were definitely evil...and very bizarre :D

It was so awful that I almost changed my mind about my CS majour...

Basic help desk/tech support stuff to external customers can be strange. Higher level stuff is usually much better, though not always.

These guys were tech support to the rest of their company. They were...eccentric. Worst of all, they didn't trust me to even do tech support, so for much of the time, they stuck me in a cubicle with no assignment and got mad if I tried to read a book or something (I was unpaid, and having me there helped satisfy some sort of quota). Then they got an evil plan to have me put labels on every printer in the building, though there was only a map of the building on the first floor, and most printers were on the top floor, and the elevator was broken. Also, the printers were not on the map, of course, and of coruse were unlabelled (as I was to label them)...And half of them had been traded and switched around...

I'd say DMs can do pretty much anthing with AWOL PCs. Doing what Bront is suggesting sounds great. Very interesting if they come back, irrelevent if they don't.
