Hi folks,
a question regarding DM credits: do i understand it correctly that those are awarded at the conclusion of an adventure? If so, how common are exceptions to this rule?

Ths situation is that one of my characters just recieved a big chunk of xp of which he missed out on a part of it because he can't level more than 1 level at once. Now the big endfight of the adventure is coming up and the character is question is now 1 xp short of lvl 6.
If i could boost his xp above level 6 he'll miss out on a great deal less xp at the big end.
so in short: i could really use a single DM credit (for the record, i am DMíng the adventure break of dawn, which is running just over 2 months now) :)

Oh, you'll get to level 6. Don't worry ;) The only use for GM credits would be to try to manipulate your level to save the lost XP.

I'm not worried about level 6, i'm worried about level 7 and 8 :)
Oh, I see. Remember, I still have time XP and a few other things in my bag of tricks. You'll get 6 without any more fighting, I think ;)

I wasn't hoping on fixing going into level 6 before the recent xp award (since it is already awarded and spending xp midway a current xp award seems very silly). So in that case my worries are mostly) gone :)
It just feels lousy to see so much xp go down the drain, but on the other hand, the award was rather big so it was to be expected.

The Judge for your adventure will have discretion to award DM credits before the end. If it really matters to you, ask him. However, even if that judge agrees, you won't be able to use the credit on a character in mid-adventure without the approval of the DM for that adventure.

Actually, Zaeryl and Michael made it out pretty well and then split up. Now they're slaughtering Afflicted in Great Escape :) Hopefully my ending lives up to what the actual ending was going to be ;)

RA, I'm sure it will easily rival anything I was planning. It it, without doubt, beats an aborted adventure and heading back to the RDI.

Bronte, apologies. For some reason I hand it in my head that RA was running Niobe's. Thanks for taking care of him for me. I'll poke around and see what I can find. I'm not sure if I will be jumping back into play Jaan at the moment. I really like the character, he just seems to be really ill fated.

I'm judging your adventure & would be happy to front load a DM credit if it works for you & RA.

I'm wondering if it would be possible to change my existing character's (Almayce, link in my sig) Cleric levels to Cloistered Cleric levels? It would fit him better thematically and he just gained enough experience for a level (two, actually, but he missed 3,516 xp because he can't gain two levels at once...).

Changes would include:

-6hp (yeah, I know).
-1 bab.
+ lots of skillpoints.
+ additional domain.
+ lore ability.
