Caster Level is not a requirement except for a few when it is listed as a requirement like weapons. All other times, it is the standard caster level for a "found" item. You can actually make a ton more than that (stat boosters, for instance)Boddynock said:I've had a (not so) quick look at the prerequisites for the various wondrous items, and it seems to me that it is weighted towards arcane casters, and higher levels. I mean, if he takes CWI at 3rd, then he can make:
On the other hand, if he takes Brew Potion, then he can make potions of virtually any spell he can cast - not to be sneezed at!
- a candle of truth (and haven't we all wished for one of those!)
- a cloak of resistance +1
- a horn of fog (which could be useful, I suppose)
- a phylactery of faithfulness
- a rope of climbing, &
- unguent of timelessness (oh, goody!)

On the whole, I suspect that it might be better to take CWI at level 9, and go with BP at level three and CMA&A at level 6.
I am encouraged that many of the magical armors are possible for him, and that (I assume) the magical weapons will be, too.
I think I might go with a straight cleric build, taking Scribe Scroll at 1st level, Brew Potion at 3rd and Craft Magical Arms & Armor at 6th. I'll have to look at B4cchus' prestige class, to see if that would be a good fit, but in the meantime I'll have plenty to be going on with.
Funny that I'd never thought of a cleric as a crafter before.![]()
