Ah, thanks for this, Bront. I have such trouble keeping up with all the latest changes in the rules. (And I thought I'd spent so much time researching all this. :( )

Now, that's 1/3 cost for non-magical only, right? Magical crafting is still 1/2 cost?

Whew, we're leapfrogging one another in our posts. I think it's a quarter of the income which goes towards the premises. That's what it says in the Rules & Mechanics thread. I quoted it in the first post of Tarag's job thread.

Hmm, only 1/3? In that case i overpayed for Findoram's startong equipment whoch he also crafted himself. Should i correct his GP on his sheet?

When did you do that?

It was an ammendment that was put in place a bit ago. But if you're also significantly beyond starting level, it's a little late.

Alright, one other question for now: I haven't read anything yet that describes the matter, so how/when did psionics enter the setting? I was thinking of making a human psychic warrior from an isolated community near the Lands of Air or thereabouts.

OK, having set up Tarag's shopfront, I've listed simple weapons and armor as per the Job System rules. I presume that I can't actually discount these items to encourage sales, since I haven't actually paid for them in the first place. I guess they're just for flavour, and to justify the income which the job generates on a weekly basis.

Is that right? Or can I actually discount these simple items, just as I intend to discount other items he will actually Craft (i.e., pay cash and craft points for)?

It just looks a bit arbitrary to have the simple stuff at full list price, yet to discount the more expensive items.

We don't have one coherent explanation. I am quite partial to my ziivash explanation, which is used by a super-isolated community in the Lands of Fire, including my Telepath. I don't care if other people don't use it, but I would be strongly against any attempt at a different coherent explanation that rendered it unusable for me.

Sairundan is in the Lands of air, and while isolated, it's not unknown. I could see a psychic warrior from there.

I've never understood the need to explain how pisonics (or particular prestige classes, etc.) enter the setting. It's a big world, with all sorts of things magnificent and unexplained. Psionics, Magic, and countless monsters you've never dreamed of are out there, and whether or not you've run into them yet is mere happenstance.

I have two psionic PCs here in LEW, and while neither of them is quite sure what the word "ziivash" means, I don't see any problem with Sairundan being one, or even the primary, center of psionic power or learning. Banion, my soulknife, has no idea where his powers came from, and is somewhat outcast from his familly as they consider those abilities wierd and unnatural. Ironwolf, a psychic warrior, has had formal training, but I've not specified as yet from whom.

Julianna's master, who appeared in "Blood of the Werewolf" has expanded her teaching and now has a small school, though I believe she only takes female students. (She has had at least one male student, but he was one of those bug-people from the XPH, and she may have considered him sufficiently alien to make his gender unimportant to her.)

What exactly is ziivash then?

I was thinking of my character hailing from a sort of warrior-monk monastery in a psionic community, so not exactly ignorant of his power, though not entirely familiar with it all.

Eternity, my psion, comes from a similar monk based organization of psions out on an island in the middle of the ocean. Its a group that promotes inner reflection and transcendance (specifically to being reborn as an Elan). Her background is in my sig.
