Take my money lol.

Thought here may be a better place than father derailing the other thread @Parmandur but for me TLJ wasn't a bad movie for me, and I quite enjoyed it at movie theater outside of not liking what happened with Luke (too wedded to the old expanded universe version I fear) , but later on reflection I had a bit of a different view, and I think it was driven by tonally it didn't feel as good a fit fornl Star Wars - whether that comedic opening bit with prank calling making Hux look a complete fool (something that would have fit well in a Guardians of the Galaxy movie i think), or how many of the problems were self inflicted, e.g. the attempted coup , giving the bad guys the ability to see the cloaked escape ships etc, whereas in most Star Wars movies while there is internal strife, it is more black and white with the obstacles coming from the bad guys as such. So in retrospect felt a good movie, but bad Star Wars movie. Whereas episode IX looked to course correct back to typical Star Wars tone, but made a particularly bad movie in the process.
I also find it interesting people calling the OT bad movies, when Empire Strikes Back is apparently the best star wars movie in rotten tomatoes, and A New Hope tied for second with The Force Awakens, with only RoTJ scoring relatively low.

Only people who don't understand how the film industry works and who irrationally blame Kennedy (definitely in part because she's a woman, let's be real for one second here) for Star Wars' problems, but ignore anything good getting made in the same era.
The sequel trilogy is the only Star Wars produced under her tenure that I absolutely consider to be nothing but hot garbage. I don't know who exactly to blame, though I know it wasn't the actors, but Kennedy was the head honcho. If there was some fighting over what direction the sequels were going in, she should have fixed it. I've enjoyed some of the stuff produced under her tenure while others got a mixed reaction from me. I will agree she is also the victim of sexism having had the temerity to be a woman.

Edited to add sequel instead of prequel.

It's only a few people claiming ESB is bad. Usually fans of TLJ. They can't really elevate their favorite movie to masses so try abd retroactively push the barrat8ve the originals were bad.

They might be vad in terms like not appealing to new generation. They're 41-47 years old now.

I like RoTJ, but people who were a few years older than me seemed to have a problem with the ewoks (I think I was like 8 when RoTJ came out in the theater, and it is the first Star Wars movie I recall seeing). I don't know how people can say any of the new movies are better than A new Hope or Empire. I do think Lucas didn't do those movies any favors though by meddling with them and they are less perfect now because some of the revisions impact things like shot composition

She wasn't in the drivers seat with PT. Love or hate them it's on George.

Producers don't generally have much to do with filming the movie (directors job) or writing it (writers job).

They do a lot of behind the scenes stuff. Budget, crew, logistics, transport, locations etc. Normally on behalf of the studio. George was technically independent.
