I agree that a lot of them could do with simplification, but I really like their general implementation, especially the easy multiclassing.

I always thought SWSE was only a few steps away from being an actual classless system - get rid of some of the class-based bonus progressions (that's where the bounded accuracy helps) and then just pick from any talent tree at odd levels and any feat tree at even levels, subject to some basic prerequisites.
Yeah, you would already want to give jedi and soldiers an extra skill since they are losing an effective +1 to attack.

I do like having class talents and not all classes getting all feats, but it also is a major source of fiddlyness.
 

I wonder how hard it would be to just run SWSE with bounded accuracy....

Could it be done with a simple table of what proficiency bonuses are at a given l3vel, and thats it?

Obv you would need a table or simple formula for DCs as well, and for enemy numbers.

What if you add to the normal BAB and normalize it?

Replace skill proficiency numbers with proficiency bonus of 5e, to flatten those numbers a little, and add pb to normalized BAB.
