You might also look into the master class from Dragonlance's War of the Lance book. The master can represent such roles (sage, performer, professional, and craftsman) and has nifty class abilities that are laid out like talent trees.

I just googled that master class...sounds right up my alley. But I'm not really a Dragonlance fan, so I can't justify the purchase....

and Swordsage (if only Warblade had access to Desert Wind, Shadow Hand and Tiger Claw...)

Well that's why you take the Martial Manuveur feat along with Martial Stance. Admittedly not the best way to get access to all of those displinces but it's a start for Warblade.

Just a quick question. PrCs are still allowed for the generic classes, right?

I would think so, but I think that True20 doesn't have PrCs, so I was kinda wondering due to the similarities.

Don't see why not Trampas. I mean if people don't want to use Pr-classes, that's one thing. But considering the proliferation of such things, it would stand to reason a generic warrior could go into a prestige class without too much hassle.

Making it for a prestige class is real easy for the generic warrior. At least the first time, because you can aim your character from the start to hit the PrC prerquisites as soon as the skill ranks are high enough.

However, some PrCs require certain class features not available for GenW so that makes it impossible.

Question - How would one go about representing a psion with this method? Just play the psion as-is, or go with the spellcaster, save with a psionic progression?

Just play a spellcaster and call him a psion.
