Get rid of Druid summoning?

I would love to see both the document with SNA creatures statted out, and (even more usefully) a document with animals who have been Animal Growthed statted out. The latter would be fantastic!

Well a link to the first is posted above. The summoning specialist in my game had to revise all the stats for Augmented summons - but it was't that bad, he had a few favorates for each level. So he had a list of commonly summoned critters.

it's just too annoying to create a new monster and deal with it, when you're already running the bad guys.

I make the PC run the animal, and I over-rule the PC if he or she gets too blatant about what they are doing with the animal.

I've had this trouble for a while. Next summoners IMC are going to have to prepare a stat block for any creature they want to summon.

I've got to agree with the general sentiments posted above. If the DM is doing the work, he's either really nice, really foolish, or a bit of both.

Or way too much of a control freak, and won't let the Druid run them for himself. Sometimes the DM running things is not the players fault... But in this case he is taking the blame, and losing a class that he may like.

I've prepared documents with all the SRD cleric and druid spells (sorted by level), and at the end of the cleric document I included the Summon Monster creatures, and at the end of the druid document I included the Summon Nature's Ally creatures. I've found that this helps a lot.

Next step is preparing counters for all the potential summoned critters, but that should be easy with PowerPoint and CC Digital.

IMO, that falls under "foolish", but YMMV.

If he's that much of a control freak, then he still needs to accept what he sows. In this case, it's a boatload of critters to deal with. Don't want to deal with running the critters? Let the player deal with it -- they're freaking animals, for crying out load. It's not like a warthog has any state secrets that need to be protected.

When I run games with characters that can summon creatures, I, with the player, creates a list of creatures from the SRD that the player can summon and then print it out, so that he can have the stats when we start playing. This way I can also add templates and/or modifiers. I require the player to have the list with him when we play and that he runs his own summoned creatures. This makes the game easier for me to run (I have had problems with the player using alot of time speculating wich monster to summon, while reading the list. It can get very anoying, although you could require the player to read it and familise him self with the document).

Hey now, no discussions of politics on ENWorld, especially not when it comes to political pork.
