Ghost Touch Bow = GT Ammo?

I think I see your point then: you believe the descriptions may contain errors (or lack information), but that the tables more reliably show the writer's intent?

Right. Text over tables is a good general principle, but it's not always the table that's in error :)

Ok, here's a proposition for you, If I'm a ghost, and the Bow is ghost touched, how can I handle the ammunition if It isn't ghost touched BEFORE I put it in the bow?

I think you can safely argue that ammunition FIRED from a bow gains the properties of the bow it was fired from in 3.5. It is, arguably, part of the reason bows and the ammuntion no longer "stack" as in 3.0.

Problem I have tho, is the property isn't conveyed until the arrow is knocked and drawn at best - maybe loosed.

Rangers did get the shaft. They need the bucket of snails trick to stay viable. That's why I house ruled that only Rangers can get Great Cleave, and they can choose a bucket of snails as their animal companion (although technically I force them to provide the bucket).

You could argue that the enhancement bonus from a ranged weapon does not stack with the enhancement bonus from ammunition - only the higher of the two enhancement bonuses applies.

You could argue that ammunition fired from a projectile weapon with an enhancement bonus of +1 or higher is treated as a magic weapon for the purpose of overcoming damage reduction, and similarly, ammunition fired from a projectile weapon with an alignment gains the alignment of that projectile weapon (in addition to any alignment it may already have).

You could argue that a weapon ability that states "Bows, crossbows, and slings so crafted bestow the power upon their ammunition" allows for bows, crossbows, and slings so crafted to bestow the power upon their ammunition.

But the Ghost Touch quality is not an enhancement bonus, it is not an alignment, and it does not state that bows, crossbows, and slings so crafted bestow the power upon their ammunition. There's not really any basis from which to argue that bows, crossbows, and slings so crafted bestow the power upon their ammunition.

I personally feel that the reason the Ghost Touch ability does not state that bows, crossbows, and slings so crafted bestow the power upon their ammunition is because there are no Ghost Touch bows, crossbows and slings, since it's a Melee Weapon Special Ability, not a Ranged Weapon Special Ability.
