Ghostly grasp

Im playing a rogue who was turned to a shadow and I have a few questions about ghostly grasp. Ghostly Grasp says you wear, wield, and otherwise use coporeal items as though you were not incorporeal. Broken!!!! It Says nothing about weight or anything. (NUMBER 1 QUESTION) If I dont have a strength score how can I pick up anything. So I looked up what happens to a incoporeal creature when they are turned coporeal IE by a spell. They use their Charisma as str. So would I use my charisma as strength. (NUMBER 2 QUESTION) it says some where in the libris mortis that when a creature is slain and turned incoporeal its items become incoporeal. So how does that work with ghostly grasp is every thing I pick up incoporeal. If not what happenes if something tries to grapple with me while im wearing armor. Incoporeal cant grapple they have no strength but the monster that does not know the rules grabs my coporeal armor. Can I make some of my items incoporeal and some of them not? (NUMBER 3 QUESTION) When my shadow steps into a wall and he has coporeal magic equipment does it fall on the ground that would be a drag.

I'd start by wondering what your DM is smoking. Really, it shouldn't be possible to keep playing the character if your a shadow until you get raised. Your Int drops to 6 and if the shadow that killed you is still around your under its control.

As for Ghost grasp, an incorporeal creature always uses their Cha as Str unless they have a str score (ie they are not incorporeal subtype but under magical effect)

Ok I left out a few things

I actually was looking in libris mortis and found a item I really liked, unholy shrouds. I told my dm that I wanted to buy it but I wondered if I could get one that would instead of a wraith or ghast turn a character into a shadow. He let me and well I paid someone to help me use it. Then I took emanciated spawn out of savage speices so I could recall my class skills and stuff. Now im 15th level. Do to the fact that I had a really high Int before I became a shadow because I was a drow thief. Its 14 now without the belt of magnificense. I dont really feel you answered my question fully.

I believe this is correct.

I think you are referring to the Ghost entry in the Monster Manual. You should read it again. If you know the page number that this is referenced in Libris Mortis, could you post it? Or quote the exact rule?

No. Ghostly Grasp lets you pick up corporeal objects (as if you were corporeal). Those objects do NOT suddenly become incorporeal.

As long as the monster can touch you (I'd count grapping your corporeal armor), it can grapple you (and you would use your Charisma Mod instead of Strength).

I'd say he would have to drop it, I don't think it would fall to the ground automatically. But either way, he wouldn't be able to take corporeal equipment with him into a solid object.

I didn't see this item anywhere in Libris Mortis, could you give me the page number it is on? I found a couple of similarly named items, but they don't seem to do what you think "unholy shrouds" does.

Unholy shrouds is on page 79. The lesser version turns a corpse into a ghast; the greater version into a wraith.

Ah, I completely missed that. For some reason, I thought it was a special armor type.

Well I thought Ghostly Grasp was a property from the MIC, so you are ahead of me there! :D

I gave away my copy of Savage Species, but my recollection is that it is not the most balanced and well-designed of source books. I'd be leery of anything from it. Maybe Emancipated Spawn is an exception to the general rule.

Can anyone give a summary of it? I'm trying to think of what kind of (virtual) LA this rogue would end up having. How many levels of rogue could he have compared to a straight rogue of the same xp?

Emancipated Spawn

Requirements:
Race: Intelligent undead created by another undead using its create spawn ability.
Base Attack Bonus: +3
Special: Must have been created as a spawn by an undead creature that has since been destroyed.

Additionally, a freed Shadow's ECL is 10 (called out as such by the sidebar on pg. 75 of Savage Species. So with the full 3 levels of Emancipated Spawn (required in order to regain all your lost class levels) and the OP's mention of being a 15th level character that means he is a 2nd level rogue. 3 Racial HD from Shadow + 7 LA + 3 Levels of Emancipated Spawn + 2 Levels of Rogue = 15 levels.

That's assuming the DM ignored the "special" section of the PrC requirements.
