D&D 5E Ghosts of Saltmarsh: Pre or Post GHW?

Quick question that my pre-work, hurried google-fu has been unable to answer:

Is Ghosts of Saltmarsh set Pre-Greyhawk Wars or Post-Greyhawk Wars?

Neither. Its so generic and off the beaten path you should worry about it. PS. What is the Greyhawk Wars?

Since Saltmarsh came out before 1991, and the book allows to place in FR, I going with Pre.

Absolutely pre-Greyhawk Wars, due to the political status of the Scarlet Brotherhood and the Hold of the Sea Princes.

The original Saltmarsh module made no mention of anything related to Greyhawk apart from a location, but it was published well before the Greyhawk Wars stuff.

The new 5e GoS version seems to take the view that the Greyhawk Wars never happened.

Well, haven't happened yet: the Scarlet Brotherhood is working towards what happened in the Greyhawk Wars in the traditional timeline.

that was a good idea. There are WoG fans who like the GWs, and others who don't. Sounds like this supplement can cater to either of them...

Not really...to set it after the Greyhawk Wars would involve significant reworking.
