Giants In The Land!

Greetings!

Leopold, did you convert the G-1 series and play it? How did it go? What kind of adaptations did you do to it? Feel free to post some of those notes here, I think they would be interesting!:)

Giants are often neglected--I don't know quite why. Why wouldn't Giants have kingdoms and civilizations, just like humans? Imagine Giant-Druids and priests raising herds of giant animals, to not only eat, work, and sell, but also for other domestic resources. Imagine humans buying huge herds of Dire Boar from a Giant kingdom!

The first 3e campaign I ran was converted from Liberation of Geoff, the 2e update of the G1-3 series. It was fun as hell, those are my favorite modules in every edition of D&D! :)

When I get some time I will post some notes, too bad I threw away all my conversion notes, I had some monsters in there! :)

Imagine humans buying huge herds of Dire Boar from a Giant kingdom!

Imagine humans realizing their folly upon seeing a Dire Boar up close. Would you herd aggressive, tusked, rhinos? Even if they're "the other white meat"?

In an earlier thread, I posted about a setting I did not get done in time, called Land of the Giants, about a planet where the giants ruled and all the other races were just vermin to them. Thought it was interesting to see this thread after that post.

But then why would the great and powerful Giants deign to even have contact with humans in anything other a hunter-vermin capacity

Human - you know it tastes like pork?

Humans can actually be useful though; you can get things out of them. And large enough groups of humans can cooperate and form armies.

Hello!

Hey, being fans of giants and all, you should check out an adventure called BEYOND ALL REASON by Fiery Dragon Productions written by yours truly. I love giants and have always been a big fan of the classic giant's series. I couldn't resist posting because almost everything that has been discussed so far has been considered in BAR.

Without giving too much away, the adventure centers around a tribe of fire giants known as the Jirockk who are now terrorizing the surrounding lands from their stronghold based under a volcano. The Jirockk are fully realized, featuring their religion, history, social structure, motiviations, relations with other giants and fire types, and their life under a volcano. Among the Jirockk are classed warriors, sorcerers, clerics, monks, and adepts.

It's also got Yuan Ti;), other giants and giant-kin (including an Ettin-Athach crossbreed) and yes, Dire Boar. Not only as a food source, but also to pull their growing armory of war chariots.

It's done in the spirit of Hall of the Fire Giant King, and is a nice compliment to another another FDP release, Monte's Drow adventure QUEEN OF LIES. I don't have the link off-hand, but if you want more info there's a review by Psion over yonder in the reviews section.

Anyway, a cheers to Mr. Shark and friends!:)

FDP!

Sounds like a SHARK adventure!
