Girallon paint job question

I recently got the fiendish girallon DDM and was wondering if the paint job on mine was exceptionally poor or if they've all been painted this way. The one I have is mostly black (base colour) with grey highlights and blotches of white. Its hands and feet are black with a bit of grey. :\

The photo of this mini at the WotC site (scroll down the page), however, shows it to be mostly greyish-white with pinkish-grey hands and feet.

Do you have this mini and, if so, what's the paint job like?

Sorry you got a bad one. Mine looks pretty good, though not as good as the one on the web page of course. Mine is properly white and grey and looks nice and fierce. I'm planning to smack my D&D group with it pretty soon. :)

Thanks for the reply. Are its hands and feet pinky-grey?

And they're only 1st level! :)

Honestly I don't remember. I'll take a look at it when I get home, but I think they're just grey.

That would be mean. :)
No the party is 10th level, so they would have no trouble with it, but it will be summoned by a fairly high-level spellcaster (around 10th I think) and there will be other mooks present. Should be fun.

Interesting...

Some have complained the actual paint jobs of the DDMs are going backwards. Is this an isolated incident or do you see the whole line sliding in quality?

My DM has a couple of the girallon minis and both of his were better painted than mine. So it looks like I just got a lemon. Having said that, his were not nearly as well painted as the sample one on WotC's site. I have since repainted my girallon.

As for the quality of the paint job declining, I think that may be true of the larger minis (if, for example, I compare my dire ape to my DM's girallons) but not of the smaller ones which have improved slightly.
