Give me ideas for 2 high level druid spells related to horses

First Post
I am just finishing a d20 netbook (to be released for free) on Celts and Celtic Druidism, that I had begun to write 3 years ago. I only need to fill a few blanks, and the thing is ready to go (approximately 30 pages). Among those blanks, the last ones I must take care of is to create two high level spells (8th and 9th level) druidic in nature. These spells must be related to horses (horse, riding, etc.). I have no ideas, and would like to get a few suggestions here. Thanks. :)

Well, at 8th and 9th level, this could be "mass spells":
-- Spell summons several horses to stampede / trample everything in their path for 1 minute per level (not one mere 1 round per level).
-- Spells summons 1 flying horse per level, to serve for 1 hour per level as if it was more of less a Chariot of Sustarre spell (by the way, I could just convert this spell and tweak it a little).
-- Horse could be turned into a killing machine?

Ah well, give me your imput please!

I was going to suggest a stampede too, but at 9th level it shouldn't be "a few" horses, it should be the ground trembling and a line of horses as far as the eye can see come up and over the horizon and streaming in your direction.

There was an old 2nd edition magic item that was an iron horse statue that was pretty powerful. If someone has access to the write up on it, it would be worthy of a high level spell.

At least this makes me think i should peruse all my D&D books from old editions to the most recent d20 supplements, and see if I cannot find some ideas there...

I'd go for something like "Spirit Stampede", which creates wave after wave of horses which trample over an enormous area of effect ('coz druid spells do, don't they?) - not enormous damage, but possibly knocking down or bull-rushing the targets.

As for an alternative... Something like 'Mass Awaken' - animating huge swathes of the landscape (possibly including the ground and rocks but certainly plants, etc) for a short while to entangle, attack and generally maul the enemy. Working it from a base of the Earthquake spell, but adding entanglement might work.

Does it have to effect horses, or simply be horse related?

IIRC the celts had some charming ideas about kings, horses and the land. While I wouldn't recommend putting those into a game neccesarilly you might filch the ideas.

FREX: A really high level version of bless crops where you sacrifice a horse to give it's power to the land for a year. Or another to grant a horses speed and strength to a whole tribe of warriors for a day and a night.

8th level: Mass Spirit Steed. As phantom steed, except one steed per level, and the steeds have DR 10/--.

9th level: Elementaur Stampeed. You summon a large number of fey (centaurs) who charge your foes with magical lances. The fey are elemental in nature -- they could spring from a gash in the Earth, or swoop down from the clouds. The damage they deal is weapon damage -- not subject to SR or the like -- but it includes some kind of elemental (energy) damage, too.

one appraoch is to break the cincept down to its elements, meaning, what do horses mean or represent...just off the top of my head, in cultures in which they are held in special regard they represent physical power, speed, travel / journey, strength, loyal service, companionship, endurance, leadership, pride, regality, etc...i suppose one could use that as a premise or a base point to start thinking about a nature based spell of the level or levels in question...just my 2 cents... ;)

"Mass Phantom Steed" and "Mass Stampede" sound like good idea. I will also try to think about something more complicated suc as:
FREX: A really high level version of bless crops where you sacrifice a horse to give it's power to the land for a year. Or another to grant a horses speed and strength to a whole tribe of warriors for a day and a night.

Others:

8th: Swift Zephyr, Mass: All allied horses within 100 ft. + 10 ft./level gain the effects of horseshoes of speed and horseshoes of a zephyr. Duration: 24 hours.

9th: Fantastic Mount, Mass: One fantastic mount / 2 levels appears, and serves you or an ally you designate for up to 24 hours, as though it were an obsidian steed.

(I'm thinking about the kind of stuff that PCs are dealing with at those levels...)
