not being sexist, I just never recall ever seeing a female running games at a con, been to a few of them countywide. Seen a few players (small percentage like 12%) at cons, and even played with two or three until they found a bf and lost intrest or just had no time

My Girlfiend often runs games for my group, and I've had female GMs and Players at my tables, both at cons and at home games (Including the one group where I was the only guy... :D)

I can't remember ever having been in a group without at least one fair maiden, to be honest...

My best friend's sister was in my original group back in the late 90's. She got really into it and started her own campaign that ran for a good few months. It was some of our better games back then.

At a con, I played a Traveller game and a D&D whacked job under a female GM. I also played in RPGA games under a couple of female GM's. One of them was exceptionally excellent.

When I moved to the SF Bay Area, one of the very first home games I played was some crazy lady and her wierd homebrew D&D game. To say that it was a terrible experience was an understatement.

Myself? No.

My players obviously have and I GM a lot more often than I play.

As far as con's go, well I don't go to con's. To many bad experiences when I was younger and I just wrote them off. Which I have meet more than a few other women who feel the same way about cons. So not sure cons are a good representation of who does or does not play. Like of my gaming group, of the 6 players. 4 have never been to a con ever, one only a few times and only one guy still attends them.

My wife ran some Star Wars during the WEG era; some of the most fun I've had in a game, actually. :)

Beyond that, I have rarely seen it in person, but I have some friends on the internet who are playing Ironclaw/Jadeclaw with a woman running the game.

My home game has rotated DMs this year, and one of the women in the group took a shift. I believe we ran about five sessions with her at the helm.

I've played in a game at my friendly local game store at the table of a woman who DMs from time to time.

At the only con I've ever been to, a woman DMed one of the tables I played at.

One of my regular Friday night MapTool game players is a woman who has DMed in the past (though I haven't played in any of her games yet).

So yes, women do serve as game masters! And keep in mind that this is based on my entire RPG playing experience which goes all the way back to... earlier this year. It can't be THAT uncommon if I've personally played at tables with three different female DMs over the course of about eight months.
