So the 3.5 Gnome's favorite class has been nerfed to BARD! The poor little bastards. Haven't they suffered enough?

I have to wonder if they changed the bard's spell list to be heavily influenced by illusions, instead of enchantment spells.

I read that they were giving bards the edge in divination and enchantment - not illusion.

They were pretty illusion-y in 3.0, and judging by the list posted at http://enworld.cyberstreet.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=53115&pagenumber=7 they don't appear to become less so. They lack some of the more combat-focused illusion spells (like Phantasmal Killer), but they do have things like the Image spells, Displacement, Invisibility, and so on.

bards also get shadow evocation and shadow conjuration, two fairly useful spells
