Goblins? Boring? I shouldn't think so.

When I read two 5th-level warrior goblins, I thought, that doesn't sound very goblin. (Five 2nd-level rogue goblins sounds more goblin to me.) But then the poisoned blowdarts made it all good.

Well, I made them :D Along with a box of monster index cards, and the DM used that.

I dunno. I guess he figured they needed the hit points (as opposed to 2nd-level goblin rogues) since our party had a beefy barbarian in it.

But yeah, if those goblins had been rogues and kept sniping us, things wouldn't have been pleasant. Even so, they would need to be at least 3rd-level to take Weapon Finesse.

Frankly, I think a beefy barbarian should kill a goblin with one blow -- and I doubt the extra hit points helped much anyway.

They don't need Weapon Finesse to use shortbows effectively. With arrows dipped in filth. And anything works well on a man-sized target squeezing through a goblin-sized tunnel -- especially through slits in the walls, floors, and ceilings.
