Goblins in the Cellar (Bront judging)

Leland moves L4 -> M5 -> L6 and attacks the Worg.

OOC: Yep, that works well.

Leland moves around Justice and slashes the Worg visciously with his greatsword for 10 points. Blood splatters but the Worg is still standing.

Thus endith round #1.

Braiden moves to N3 and fires at the Worg, which proves to be risky. The Worg is not flat footed so it is considered in melee, thus Braiden takes the -4 penalty for firing into melee. Also Benedict gives the Worg cover, that is another -4 penalty. The attack roll of 18 misses the Worg by exactly 4, which means Braiden hits the cover (which is Benedict, and 18 is high enough to hit Benedict). Benedict takes 7 points of damage and drops to the ground (currently at -1 and unstable).
OOC: I'm sorry, but did LE choose to adopt 3.0 cover rules, rather than 3.5? They switched away from the possibility of hitting cover in the newer version. If that's in the LE rules, and I'll be the first to admit I haven't read them all, I apologize for asking.

Justice, Warforged Paladin 2, AC 20/FF 20/TC 10, 21/21 HP

Justice keeps his steely focus on the worg, trying to end the cur's threat to his downed companion. Can anyone repair the damaged unit? He appears to be close to shutting down.
attack (1d20+5)=20 damage (1d8+2)=3
His sword once again finds its way through the worg's defensive dodging, but it only does a small amount of damage.

[sblock=ooc] If the worg is down on his turn, Justice will instead charge a goblin (#3 if he's still in position...), getting a +2 bonus to hit and taking a -2 penalty to AC. [/sblock]

OOC: I have no idea Redclaw, I am assuming LE is using the full 3.5 rule set. Cover provides a -4 penalty to hit, so if you miss by between one to four you hit the cover. That is the way we have played it in our table-top games. What really is a killer is firing into melee, the additional -4 without Precise Shot makes archery darn near impossible.

OOC: It almost forces archers to only take clear shots. One way to do this is delay and only take unobstructed non-melee shots as they present themselves. Otherwise the cover and melee penalties are too hard to overcome.

Round #2

INIT:
Braiden 20
Goblin1 17
Goblin2 17
Goblin3 17
Goblin4 17
Goblin5 17 (no longer visible)
Irrinaer 15
Benedict 15 (-2 HP and unstable)
Justice 14
Jezira 9
Worg 5 (badly wounded)
Leland 5

Braiden is up.

OOC: OK gang, Rules of the Game clarifies this a bit, and I will change my ruling on this. check out the link: http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/rg/20070731a

OOC: Basically the penalties are applied correctly, a total of -8. The -4 penalty for firing into melee is defined as "because you must be very careful where you shoot to avoid hitting an ally." So that means there is no hitting your allies. My gaming group is using a house rule and I didn't know it. Sorry about that.

OOC: Damn, I will need to re-work round #1 and put in Benedict's attack.

Round #1 modifications

Braiden fires on the Worg and misses everything.

The Goblin's turns are unaffected.

Irrinaer's turn is unaffected.

Benedict, currently at 6 hit points, swings at the Worg but misses with a 13.

Justice's turn is unaffected.

Jezira's turn is unaffected.

The Worg will stick with the attack on Justice just to keep things simple.

Leland's turn is unaffected.

That's it for Round #1.

Updated Round #2 start

Goblin5 17 (no longer visible)
Irrinaer 15

Justice 14
Jezira 9
Worg 5 (badly wounded)
Leland 5

Braiden is up.
