GOD RULES: Player's Guide (5e) Kickstarter Pre-Launch Page

Hey U_K! While we're on the topic of really, REALLY big monsters, I was wondering if there were any dragons, unique or not, that are significantly more powerful than the Psocodragons? Also, my party's Dragonborn Paladin wanted to get upgrades allowing her to upgrade her "scale type" from Gold to the type of non-mortal dragons like Fey/Shadow/Astral and so on, and I was wondering what would be the best way to do that?

Yes but I can't reveal it yet, too Meta-crazy.

Dragon Purview has a Boon that lets you change Dragon Colour/type with a Hit Dice limitation.

So if they want to take on Aspects of more powerful dragons that would be the most obvious way I can think of.

No worries about not being able to reveal it, we've all gotta have our secrets :p

The Dragon purview thing looks perfect for my party!

Hey U_K! I was wondering, what DR would the Danava/Hekatoncheires Titans from PF2e roughly be in the God Rules?

-Arcane :)

I don't see any reason why they would be considered anything other than an equivalent Challenge Rating in 5e. The Danava seem very like the Empyrean from 5e which was the 'old school' version of the Titan...even though Pathfinder has a few similar flavours of Titan whether good, neutral or evil.

At CR 24 the Hekatonkeres is a watered down version of the Epic Level Handbook monster.

Both look roughly on a par with my version of the Balor (detailed in the book as part of the Balor Bodyguard epic spell) which is only a CR 20 Quasi-deity per my rules*; but a decent bit tougher than the official Balor.

So on the face of it the Pathfinder 2e 'Titans' are about Divine Rank 2 if we convert their stats to my system. However, if I was recreating them then the default Empyrean style-titan would be maybe equal to a Demigod, so CR 24.

Obviously going by the mythology the Hekatonkeres should be at least CR 36.

*Remember that from Challenge Rating 12-13 (approx. a Level 20 PC; albeit one halfway between going nova) each added Divine Rank = 4 Challenge Rating. BUT, the scaling is changed so that:

+4 CR = x2 of lower CR
+8 CR = x3 of lower CR
+12 CR = x6 of lower CR
+16 CR = x10 of lower CR

So 'my' CR 20 version of the Balor is equivalent to 3 Level 20 PCs.

Arguably we could say a Level 20 PC "going nova" is temporarily more like CR 20, so I'm sort of splitting the difference (Base CR 12 vs. Nova CR 20 = average CR 16) but then dropping Challenge Rating down by 4 points because I want to make CR 12/13 the default for 20 Hit Dice.

So on average a Level 20 PC is rated (by me) CR 12/13 with maybe high points hitting 20 but more like a 16 (overall). So just like the PCs, my monsters work out maybe 4 points higher to counterbalance PC power and bring everything back to a level playing field.

Hey U_K! Do you have any other 3.5e IH converted monsters with art/concepts currently? I'd love to see/hear about your new takes on the Sadim, Odium, and whatever you have planned for the Fey/Shadow/other CR 28+ dragons! I'd also love to know just how many damage dice the average user of the Big Bang Bell roughly deals per round, but if that's spoilers, that's just fine.

I have art for: Star Metal Golem (formerly Orichalcum); Neutronium Golem and Grigori (a playable race in the new book). Those are the only monsters from the Immortals Handbook Bestiary I currently have new art for.

I'd love to see/hear about your new takes on the Sadim, Odium,

Well the Sadim will be in the new Adventure-Bestiary as it just fits too good with what I have planned.

Not sure if the Odium will make it into the God Rules: Epic Bestiary. I really like the monster but I already have 5 new Abominations (I already showed the first = the Abominator).

and whatever you have planned for the Fey/Shadow/other CR 28+ dragons!

I have a mock-up for one of the dragons (from the Shadowfell), but I really don't want to give too much away yet. Things still being worked on.

With all the dozens of new materials I have, tons of potential for new Dragons and Golems. I think there are 57 at the last count, I know all this is gonna bite me in the bum when I come to close out Chapter 8.

Add to that I have 20+ new energy types (so lots of Elemental potential)
17 new Planes above the Astral/Elemental Planes (18 if we count the Far Realm).
5 Dimensional Barriers (6 counting the Border Ethereal)

..the books WAY too big, I know it, but I am just some degree of crazy/stupid my imagination always gets the better of me.

I'd also love to know just how many damage dice the average user of the Big Bang Bell roughly deals per round, but if that's spoilers, that's just fine.

Well that chapter is still being worked on, but a rough head calculation suggests a Big Bang Bell could deal around 33,000d6 (just roll 3 dice for the 10,000's and 3 dice for the 1000's and then multiply by 1000. You don't need to roll all 33,000d6. ;)
