GOD RULES: Player's Guide (5e) Previews/Discussion

Yes there is. Weirdly I was going to end Late Pledges this Thursday (since I had none the previous 2 weeks) and then I got 2 earlier this week. So I will leave Late Pledges open for now.
To follow up my previous post, how does someone do a late pledge? Maybe because I am a backer, but all pledge options are blocked (expect my pledge) when I look at the Kickstarter.

EDIT: Never mind - I just opened the kickstarter in another browser and I can see the pledge options now.

@Upper_Krust can people still pledge for the Kickstarter?

Yes they can still pledge.

I had someone DM me on reddit asking how to get the book and when it was available.

I appreciate the help dave buddy.

I directed them to the kickstarter but I wasn't 100% sure that was the best option.

Everything is still available.

Maybe mention to them the full book is getting an extra 100+ pages so the full book won't be available until around March. But a 400 page version will be available just before Christmas.

Following is the slightly tweaked Ancient Red Dragon stat-block within God Rules: Player's Guide.

The main changes are:
1. Damage Threshold reduced to 18 (Hit Dice x 0.3). Technically the full formula is Material AC (in this case Flesh = AC 11) x 0.0273 x Hit Dice. AC 11 x 0.0273 = x0.3. So x0.3 so in most cases that simplification applies unless the creature is made of iron or adamantine etc.
2. Exhaustion Level (2024 version: -1 Proficiency Bonus) added when Legendary Resistance used and the number of Legendary Resistance uses = your Proficiency Bonus (I'm toying about with this idea - at the moment I think its an improvement, but happy to be proved wrong).

Happy Thanksgiving to those on the other side of the pond.

Sadly both myself and Mrs Krust are loaded with the flu right now. Hopefully we can shrug it off in another day or so.

The reason for this post is to gain some feedback on the idea of changing the name Combat Reactions to Legendary Reactions. Tying the idea into Legendary Actions which they indirectly are.

I was a tad concerned people would get confused and wonder where Legendary Actions were.

Any thoughts on the matter?

I'm on your side of the pond, but further South.

Hope you and the Mrs recover soon.

If you are tying LA to the reactions then change the name to LR. It is not confusing at all.
If you are worried about it, write a sentence or two about it prior the monster/deity write-ups clarifying it.

Small world amigo.

Thank you. She is really bad with it, I just have an occasional cough coupled with a splitting headache the tablets won't seem to shift.

That seems the best approach but my head is so pickled right now I cannot think straight.

Not sure I have the space on each statblock to explain it each time.

One other thing I have been mulling over is the number of chambers in a Divine Lair or "Godslair'.

While obviously the deity could hypothetically build a mile high castle with thousands of chambers for practical purposes I have been using 20 per divine rank.

hero-deity gets 20...such as Circe
Quasi-deity gets 40...such as a Balor
Demideity gets 60...such as Nezha
Lesser deity gets 80...such as Orcus
Intermediate deity gets 100...such as Thor
greater Deity gets 120...such as Zeus

I was putting together a Balor's Keep using the rules. Without going into details of how the Godslair Generator works, I ended up with 36 chambers of which 3 were empty. So 33 rooms with content. That further broke down into 18 with 'something' interesting, 10 combat encounters (below average rolls) and 15 with some treasure (above average rolls in that case). Obviously with overlap between those three things...and there are tables to randomly generate what all that is.

But for now my question is so the number of rooms feel right to you?
