The Big G is effectively immortal because he's got massive regeneration abilities, which was incorporated into some movies and his comic I think (G-cells). At the end of one of the reboots (SOS I think), his heart is all that's left at the bottom of the ocean as it begins to regenerate his body and part of the Biollante / Space Godzilla storyline.

Interesting sidenote: The guy who played Godzilla has been the same actor through all incarnations 'cept for GINO of course from the original King of the Monsters til the apparent end of the franchise.

Not quite. One man, Harou Nakajima, played Godzilla in the original movie up through to Terror of Mechagodzilla (although of course there were some other stuntmen in the costume as well). Kenpachiro Satsuma, who played such monsters as Hedorah and Gigan in the 70's, took over the role in Godzilla 1985 and played him through to Godzilla vs. Destoroyah (he has also developed a fighting style based on the part called "Godzilla Kendo"). And the guy in the suit seems to have changed between each movie in the Millennium series, which makes sene because continuity between them is loose-if-at-all.

Godzilla is just a Tarrasque of Legend with a longer breath weapon. He regenerated all those times because they never used a wish after inflicting all that nonlethal damage. The dragon gods would know better.

But Optimus has ranged weapons which He-Man doesn't. Besides, the correct response to my question would have been "Does He-Man have Battlecat with him?"
