good feat for Goblin adept

I am making a 4th level goblin adept and can't decide on his feats.

This guy is gonna wade into combat after prepping himself.

So far he has combat casting (which I might take out) and Alertness (free), I a thinking about weapon focus and toughness but the seem so vanilla.

Improved Initiative hurts no one and Combat Reflexes is often useful. You might consider Dodge and taking some ranks in Tumble since I assume that prepping yourself for battle means you are working less with armor than with buff spells?

i think i read on another thread that 98 monsters in the MM have improved init.

avoid combat casting unless your adept looks like an obvious spellcaster.

edit: take point blank shot or weapon focus crossbow.
