I get Sat. to game...she gets together with her friends to scrapbook! :D

I thought gaming was expensive until some ladies at church introduced my wife to scrapbooking. Creative Memories is evil! <shivers> :)

Airwolf

P.S. Congrats on your 9th!

I'm exceedingly lucky. MY wife and I actually met over a copy of Realms of Valor back in high school... Her previous boyfriends refused to teach her how to play because she was 'a girl' so i taught her how and she's an avid player now.... WOOHOO!!!

:D :D :D :D :D

Sorry, I've got you all beat -

My wife let me go to GenCon even though our wedding anniversary was the 8th!

What a woman!

My hat is off to die_kluge. Actually, to his wife. After that move, she is in total control for a least a year. My friend, I hope you enjoy Celine Dion and window treatments. :D

Well after 20 years of marriage, the only thing that will get me kicked out of the bedroom is: "WHAT, WE aren't gaming becuae YOU don't feel like GMing?".

Oh, she started gaming to spend more time with me. Got hooked after a session where she and I played a married couple of cats that got into a argument over who crashed our space ship into a lake on a primitive planet. :D

That was long 20 years ago. Boy how times have changed.:D

Heh heh, I actually met my fiance when a mutual friend of ours brought her into the Warhammer FRP game I was running (I already had I think 7 players and wasn't too keen on an eigth but it was an opportunity to have 3 women playing in one of my games! I first I think for any WFRP game :D ).

We played for almost a year before I worked up the courage to ask her out.

I found out later that our mutual friend was just about ready to apply some heavy objects to my cranium if I didn't get the hint that my fiance really liked me (but was too shy to ask me out). :)

I always the last to know everything - even when I'm in love! :D

BTW my fiancee (for those who don't know already) is madriel on the boards and has been gaming with me ever since.

Thanks Airwolf...we are going to have to plan something big next year (10th). It is truly amazing at how much money can be spent scrapbooking. My wife is redoing all our old albums. She is also doing albums for both of our daughters (6 and 2). Though I don't buy much RPG stuff its pretty easy for me to pick something up when I want with her hobby. :D

I tried to interst her, and she gave it an effort, halfway thru statting out her first character she said "honey, ilove you, and i am so glad this brings you joy, but i am gonna cry if i get any more bored with this"

Honestly you might have considered making the majority of her Character for her since Character generation is probably the worst part of playing the game.

My wife plays regularly with my gaming group and generally anytime we start a new game she asks me to make her character for her stat wise. She sits and tells me about her character while I number crunch and give her what character she wants to play. It has worked great so far and we have been gaming together for 12 years. :)

My wife of almost 10 years gets quite upset when the gaming session inevitably gets cancelled.
(Our play group is notoriously inconsistent)
Almost every time we talk about gaming in any way with the DM, she keeps saying "So when are we gonna play GURPS, eh?" kinda like stabbing him to prod him into continuing her favorite adventure.

She's like the other poster: wasn't allowed to play in high school, cause it was just for "Guys".

When I found guys at work 5 years ago that played, she jumped in with both feet and is better at playing in-character than the others in the group.
Course, her characters tend to be aggressive females that kick ass and get away with it all due to high Charisma, which is basically close to her RL persona. :)
