[h=2]In honor of our awesome Metamorphosis Alpha Kickstarter, we have a $2 sale on DCC #36: Talons of the Horned King![/h]Hi everyone! We're having an awesome time with our Kickstarter to bring back the original 1976 edition of Metamorphosis Alpha. The deluxe oversized hardcover has passed two stretch goals already! Every purchase now includes a free PDF, a free GM screen, a free poster map, and a free Monster and Devices Guide (written by Mr. James M. Ward himself!). And we're now only a short distance away from unlocking stretch goal #3, which is a free adventure module for everyone who purchase the hardcover! WOW! The oversized deluxe hardcover is already impressive, but now it's an even better value.
Many years ago, we published DCC #36: Talons of the Horned King, which was an homage to a classic TSR module. As you all know, that classic TSR module was Expedition to the Barrier Peaks...which was published as a D&D adventure, but actually started as a playtest of Metamorphosis Alpha. You can learn more about the history of this module and the relationship between the two games in our hardcover edition of Metamorphosis Alpha. In the meantime, we hope you enjoy this coupon for a copy of DCC #36 for only TWO BUCKS!
And please be sure to search for our Metamorphosis Alpha project on Kickstarter!

Special price for Dungeon Crawl Classics #36: Talons of the Horned King: $2.00 (click the link to apply the discount)

tempting..but...

It is tempting, but I backed another Metamorphosis Alpha Kickstarter a long while back that hasn't been fulfilled. I am sure Goodman Games will do a much better job of delivery. The real issue for me is that I don't want to wind up with another awesome game that I will never play.

The core book is done. I think the first adventure is done, they were selling copies at Gary Con. The new stuff, well, isn't done yet. So I think it's cool that most of it is already done.

the Amory is unlocked. And soon another adventure. I'm hoping for the mutation manual, personally. Also it looks like some of these things are available as addon's so if you want them and not the core book you might be able to add them.

Goodman Games has also put another adventure on sale for $2 in support of the kickstarter. It's a newer DCC adventure with robots and sci fi elements.

DCC #79 Frozen in Time.

I trust Goodman Games to get it done. I just don't think it will be a game that I get to play if I back it on Kickstarter, even though a friend in my gaming group emailed me about it when the KS first went live.

I'm glad it's being re-released, and wish them great success with it. It's just too much money for me to justify for a hardback copy of a game I already own, though. I usually make up my own adventures, draw my own maps, etc., so modules and such aren't very important to me. I would happily give them $40-50 for a copy of the hardcover book, but just can't justify the price for the package, at least when it comes to my wants and needs.

The GM screen, creature and device guide, poster map of the warden, book of player handouts, and a block of dice are all available separately. You could add them to your collection by first only picking the $5 cover poster or the $10 dice bag and adding the separate addons by pledging the required amount. No oversized expensive hard back needed.

I hope the Armory and the Mutation Manual (if the kickstater makes it there) will be unbundled as well.

Goodman Games is licensed to print the core book only the one time, the other stuff may fall into that as well.

I know - I saw the dice bags at GaryCon. I have thought about buying the screen and bags separately.

It's the book that interests me the most, though, primarily because it is hardback. My old copy of the game is in paperback, from way back when, so I have to be pretty careful when I handle it. A hardback version would be really nice - I don't care if it's particularly fancy or not, as long as it's durable. That's why this Kickstarter is not for me, though I really do hope it goes over well.

In support of the kickstarter Goodman Games has on sale the AD&D 1st edition of the DCC #36 Talons of the horned King is $2
