Yep, I am looking forward to this. I have some of the other GG products and really enjoy them.

Another update, hot off the press. Sailors of the Starless Sea converted to 5e!

Terror from the UnderDeep is one of the biggest 5E-only projects we've done in quite some time. In the early brainstorming stages of this project, we asked ourselves, "What do our 5E fans keep asking us for that we can provide with this project?"

The answer was clear. For years, fans have asked us to convert our vast library of outstanding adventures to the 5E rules set.

So...we're doing it.

Launching as an add-on with Terror From the UnderDeep will be the official 5E adaptation of perhaps our most famous adventure: Sailors on the Starless Sea!

The DCC RPG edition of Sailors on the Starless Sea has been compared favorably to the greatest D&D adventures of all time. Now, for the first time, it will be available for the 5E rules set!

Coming soon as part of Terror From the UnderDeep:

Since time immemorial you and your people have toiled in the shadow of the cyclopean ruins. Of mysterious origins and the source of many a superstition, they have always been considered a secret best left unknown by the folk of your hamlet.

But now something stirs beneath the crumbling blocks. Beastmen howl in the night and your fellow villagers are snatched from their beds. With no heroes to defend you, who will rise to stand against the encircling darkness? The secrets of Chaos are yours to unearth, but at what cost to sanity or soul?

Sailors on the Starless Sea pits a mob of low-level adventurers against the legacy of the Chaos Lords and their corrupted hordes. Delving beneath the crumbling ruins, the characters discover ancient crypts, a starless sea, and an ancient ziggurat, where death and treasure await in equal measure!

I’m excited for this. It’ll be interesting to see how they port the level-0 funnel to 5e (assuming they didn’t do that already somewhere)

Likewise. There are some 0-level character creation supplements on DMs Guild, and I’ve done my own approach using backgrounds as 0-level classes. Looking forward to this.

I am very happy that 5e is so worthwhile for Goodman Games, but man I'd rather be running DCC than 5e.. but 5e is what most of my players know and want 🤯
I've even run some DCC adventures for my 5e games, because most of the adventures are so well done and easy to run with minimal prep.

With 5 unfilled crowdfunding projects currently, I hope they fulfill a few before starting another. Feels a lot less like "crowdfunding" and more like "preorders".
This is becoming more and more the case, isn't it? I just got my KS for C'mon Game's latest Cthulhu: Death May Die game, and I could have just waited and bought it at the FLGS. It bugs me when I am waiting for a KS and the company has already moved onto the next one.

That's what Crowdfunders feel like for a lot of small-but-not-indie companies. I couldn't say much about CMON, but as far as TTRPG companies like GG, it probably lets them spin more plates at once than their budget would otherwise allow, and more importantly gauge interest in the product. If you do a crowdfunder and it fails to fund, then you're probably not putting out that product.

But if it's a preorder, you're going to have to deliver or otherwise cancel the preorder if there ends up not being interest in the product... which seems like a bad way to do business.

Could be worse, they could be Steamforged Games.
