Got me tickets to the LotR Marathon

I got my tickets too. I'll be seeing it at the Hollywood Cinerama Dome (AKA Arclight) on Dec. 16, probably one of the best theatres in the US. Gonna be sweet. Lucky, we had someone in our group of friends willing to go down there and stand in line the day they went up for sale. I must admit, it has been tempting to sell these. We have 7 tickets for pretty good seats, and they have gone for $1300 for 2 tickets on E-Bay at:

I have a Ticket to the Indy showing. They were only selling for $150 around here. I wouldn't normally take a day off from work to see a movie but I will make an exception for this.

If it wen't for the ticket I would have already seen the TTee DVD but I am waiting to be surprised in the theater.

It comes out to about US$27 for two tickets. (Singapore Dollars it's about $40).
Starts from 9 am, and I think there are half hour to hour breaks in between.

I'd be selling them, no doubt about it. Even if you 'only' got $200 per ticket, that's a lot of popcorn for your own marathon viewing in the comfort of your own home when the DVD comes out. Some people say that nothing beats the big screen, but I think that nothing beats being able to have your intermissions whenever you want, a 100% guarantee that the tall guy isn't sitting in front of you, and avoiding the overpriced soda.

Seri and I got our tickets a couple of weeks ago. $50 each here in Canada, OUCH! I did get the first two tickets sold in Winnipeg though :D All our friends have chickened out, and the tickets have sold out now, so it'll be just the two of us. Darn. :D

It is a more limited market however, there's no where else showing the marathon within a 24 hour drive. From what I was told when I picked the tickets up, FotRee starts at 1:30pm. TTTee shows at 5:00pm, followed by RotK at 9:00pm. We'll be sneaking in some snacks for sure, $100 is more than enough money in the theater's pockets.

for the ammount you would pay for tickets now if you did not get them, you can rent a movie theater and have them play the extended DVDs for you. And this can get cheaper if you get 500 of your best friends to come along and pay a $17 dollar admission to you to get on your guest list.

Some friends of mine did that with the Cinerama and the Matrix here in Seattle.

Ussually rentals are after hours, or before though.

Aaron.

Eh. They're going to start playing the extended version of the Fellowship two weeks before RotK opens, and the Towers a week before - is getting the texture of the movie seat permanently imprinted on your butt really that important? ;)

I actually pointed that out to seri, suggested we put our tickets on Ebay with a reserve price of $20,000. She wasn't terribly impressed :p

If those times are accurate, there will be almost no breaks between the movies. Dash to the restroom as soon as the credits start! :D

A time-honored movie-going tradition!

The credits are ten hours long themselves so there's still plenty of time.
